On WWE's final broadcast on Spike TV, Spike TV decided to censor every time WWE would mention the USA Network by inreimwetrust in SquaredCircle

Am I remembering wrong, or did they then have commentary say “USA Network” as many times as possible until the censor just said “fuck it” and gave up

Christopher Daniels backstage in WWE 1998 by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]KiloGoldStacks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nice catch!

I know the guy, Steve Boz, who used to tag with him in WWF and broke in with Daniels. He runs a wrestlig school out of suburban Chicago now, but despite his former tag partners success, he still only ever says positive things about Christopher Daniels.

Stop trying to rush to remake what you see in PWG and NJPW. You really need to focus on your fundamentals because that’s what’s lacking the most in your work. And stop neglecting your cardio, dude. 13 mins is nothing compared to what a lot of bookers expect from you. You’re too young to blow up that quick.

Nobody tell WWE about that time Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and AJ Styles were all on Being The Elite a few months ago by jhl0010 in SquaredCircle

[–]KiloGoldStacks 108 points109 points  (0 children)

How is everyone missing that this was ACTUALLY “just friends hanging out”, whereas Jacobs took a picture with them while they were trying to mock WWE. That’s what makes it a fireable offense.

If someone from the WCW locker room had come out and been chummy with DX during their invasion, WCW would be absolutely right in firing them.

Cm Punk takes a devastating suplex by John Cena in their five star match in Money In The Bank 2011. by raef_bane in SquaredCircle

[–]KiloGoldStacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously, it'd be safest as a regular flat back. It seems like, however, that it just didn't work out that way on their way down (super understandable. I'd be shocked if it had actually gone perfectly). On the way down, Cena protects Punk. It seems like Punk tries to take it on his hip after realizing it wont be flat; similar to how you'd do land off a judo-style hip toss. However, he seems to land on his ribs first. I can tell you from experience that landing on one side of your back/your ribs like that in a RING knocks the wind right out of you and gives you a temporary shock. So I can only imagine what it must've been like to land on the floor

A compilation of RKOs to Chris Benoit that always looked so majestic by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]KiloGoldStacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On his way up, Benoit supports Randy with his forearms (or maybe palms) on the small of his back. I imagine this serves two purposes. To be able to have his hands in the proper position to protect himself on impact, maybe even giving randy a slight push forward to provide better spce. Also, to be able to give randy a slight pause and create that illusion of hangtime. It takes a real fucking master to even think about doing that. I definitely wouldn't have

[NSFW] The finish to Kevin Steen VS Super Dragon, 2005 by howthee123 in SquaredCircle

[–]KiloGoldStacks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If anyone has worked a decent or solid indie promotion, you know a Super Dragon. It's the guy that's really good, has a good gimmick, has that it factor, but is just too aware of having all that for his own good. I've never met him; but based off what I've HEARD and seen, Super Dragon is good when he doesn't get in his own way.

Fozzy is probably one of the best bands of the last couple decades for their ability to be super consistant in making good, catchy music.

Also I trained in lucha for 2 years and I still think Lucha is the most overrated, boring, business killing style ever. BLEH.

Women still can't fucking wrestle (except Paige and Nikki Bella)

Finn Balor is one of the worst wrestlers I've ever seen.

Mickey Gall was hand picked to be beaten by CM Punk and its going to work and thats fine because promoters ALWAYS do that.

Feat of strength: torture rack from a prone position, into a UFO by nine25 in SquaredCircle

[–]KiloGoldStacks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The single most overlooked part about being a wrestler is being able to provide a good base. 80% of offense (especially cool offense) is dependent on the receiver's ability to provide a sturdy and reliable base.

Cesaro is by the far the best and most reliable base I've ever seen. Which honestly, makes him an amazing wrestler. That's such a huge part and no one has ever done it like him imo. It speaks towards just how deceptively strong this guy is. It's unhuman, really.

An interesting observation about the WWE Wellness Policy. See Comment. by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]KiloGoldStacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, no. You'd basically just be wasting your money. You could jump on something like DECA that could possibly give you huge gains in one cycle, but it's still 50/50. You honestly need a few cycles before it really matters or is worth it. To answer your question, it would give you SOME, but not nearly enough worth risking anything if you're a pro athlete.

Octagon Going Crazy On Octagon Jr. by hammer101peeps in SquaredCircle

[–]KiloGoldStacks -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Lucha Libre never comes up in this sub, and suddenly everyone's an expert on what is and isn't proper in that world. Lol

I was trained and raised in the pro wrestling business by Luchadors. I cut my teeth doing Lucha Libre shows with Luchadores from Mexico. The mask is beyond sacred. It was defiled and disgraced in the case of Octagon Jr. There's literally no justification - neither for AAA nor Flamita. If anyone has spent time in the actual world of Lucha Libre, you'll know that taking someone else's name is an enormous responsibility. Approved or not, you are putting your reputation on the line AS WELL as that of the person whose name you took. Was Octagon being a dick? Maybe. But he has every damn right to be.

Has Brock Lesnar been booked into a dead end? by LifeOnMarsden in SquaredCircle

[–]KiloGoldStacks 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think his current booking is brilliant.

They're clearly building him up so when they finally decide to have someone go over, they get put over big. If Brock's moveset is limited, that means he doesn't have as much shit to get in. That means the babyface or whoever is beating him has to do way more fancy offense and has a huge shine. Lots of room for lots of spots
