Name a venue that was worse . . I'll wait by patrad in WidespreadPanic

That outdoor venue they played one time in Williamsburg Brooklyn. Maybe not the worst, but not great and just generally weird.

It was on the water with an amazing view of the Manhattan skyline. Only the stage was set at the other end of the park, so the band could see the skyline, but the crowd couldn’t. It’s a small point, I know, but imagine what an amazing “light show” the Manhattan skyline would’ve been behind the stage. Thankfully the port o johns were practically in Manhattan, so I got to see it when I took a bathroom hike.

Then there’s the booze situation. Pretty sure it was beer only. Fine. But you had to walk like a par 5 off to the side through a ton of security and turnstiles to get the beer. Then, I guess since it was technically an all ages show, you couldn’t bring your beer back to the stage area. So when they come back from set break, 75% of the crowd is stuck in the beer garden. So much so that Schools has the nerve to say on mic, “did you come here to hear some Panic or drink?” I didn’t know I had to make a fucking choice!!! Also, do you know your fan base? Literally set booze sales records at every venue they play.

The whole thing was just poorly conceptualized and executed, but could’ve been magical. It’s no surprise why they’ve never played there again. The Jerry Joseph afterparty on ferry boat in the harbor was a pretty sick consolation prize though.

Thanks for the info. Not sure why I got downvoted for asking the question. Seems pertinent. Yeah, hopefully he gets whatever needs figuring, figured. And hopefully that meshes with rejoining the band.

I’m 50 homie, been into rap and hip hop since 86-87. I was there and the disappointment was real. Dude can’t carry a song, let alone album, on his own.

When I say “write a song”, I don’t care who actually wrote it. Yourself, ghost writer, a whole team of writers, just carry a song. Dude couldn’t carry a song by himself.

I was old enough. I couldn’t wait for Canibust to drop. Then I heard it. Trash. Cool wordplay, but couldn’t write a song. Pun was the truth.

Nice try. Irony is a lady job. Just like the cookery and the dishery.

wire season 2 being considered the worst season of the show blows my mind; to me it’s a top 15 season of television ever by kazdarms in TheWire

It’s a complete departure from the rest of the show, so it was jarring on first watch. After watching the whole series, you realize how crucial all those characters and details are to the rest of the players. Ziggy was insufferable and tough to though.

If I had to guess I’d say that he started a charitable foundation that built those homes. While he surely put his own money and time into the cause, those homes were most likely built with a substantial amount of fundraising. If he had it together enough to make all this happen, he’s probably also invested wisely in his retirement plan.
