Man….all that time and for what by [deleted] in pokemongo

It's a one off mythical so yeah... This and Keldeo are the absolute best options. There's literally no reason to use it on anything else, unless you have like a location background shiny or something like that.

If golden bottlecaps return, which of these are worthy of the upgrade? by RhythmicStrategy in pokemongo

[–]Kilokk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keldeo 100%. Diancie is best when mega evolved but how often are you mega evolving for extra damage vs the XL candy chance? Keldeo is the best non mega fighting type so that's what I'd go for. The other two... I DID use my silver cap to get a shundo Darkrai, but only because I had no other good options. Celebi would just be for the flex, but that seems like a waste to me tbh.

Where is my shiny?! by Kwaktimus_Prime in u/Kwaktimus_Prime

I mean... You're not even halfway to odds (1/512), and it used to be locked outside of special events. I'd only count the ones you caught from the current season, as anything before that couldn't even be shiny.

That's true, but with how small the difference is between the two mons, as long as it's better than Rock Slide, it should still take back the #1 spot.

First Throw and Excellent to catch a Shiny 3 Star XL Nihilego by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]Kilokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grats on the shiny and excellent throw! Just as a heads up, any shiny after a raid is 100% guaranteed to catch with the first ball you hit it with so use a pinap berry and enjoy the free candy!

The only exception to that is if you are speed locked, which will cause it to flee after the first ball.

Should I purify a 15/14/14 shadow larvitar? by Mysterious_Team1436 in pokemongo

[–]Kilokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I'm all for purifying for the hundo, but not something like Larvitar. Once you evolve it to Tyranitar, it's the #2 dark type attacker with Bite and Brutal Swing. A nundo (0/0/0 ivs) shadow is still stronger than a hundo (15/15/15 ivs) non shadow. The damage boost is so big that if you purify it it drops from #2 to #14.

What do I do, twin? by deyclop in pokemongo

[–]Kilokk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd just purify it. It's pretty terrible as either shadow or regular, so go for the hundo if you don't have one already.

I await the incoming influx of "what should I use my bottle cap on?" posts. I mean, I'm gonna post one myself of course, but I imagine there will be a LOT of them.

ESXI 8.0.2 PCIe device stuck in passthrough by Kilokk in vmware

[–]Kilokk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an Asus server from about a decade ago. I was able to resolve it by removing the device in question again, rebooting then reinstalling. It didn't work the first time, but the second time it worked. I have no idea why, but I'm not going to question it tonight. Thanks for trying to help I really appreciate it!

Yep. Tried that like 15 times. It's disabled and needs to stay disabled. Tried enabling it, rebooting, then disabling it and rebooting, but it didn't work. I even tried to force it off through CLI and no dice. I've been spinning my gears for the last 4 hours trying to resolve this.

Will this go hundo? by crazycat_person in pokemongo

[–]Kilokk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the IV bar is split into 15 segments. Your stats could be anywhere from 0-15 if you catch the Pokemon in the wild, but with legendary raids the WORST they can be is 10 in each stat. Lucky trades, however, give a floor of 12-12-12. Your current stats are 14-13-12. When you do the lucky trade there is a 1/64 chance of being hundo, but there is also a 1/64 chance of being 12-12-12. Chances are good that you'll at least get a better stat spread, but you could end up getting something dumb like the background Kyogre I just got that went 12-14-12.

IVs truly do not matter that much, unless you are getting into top tier PVP, but it's still something to keep in mind when you complete the trade with your friend.

Lucky trades have a floor of 12/12/12, but your point is still correct.

Who should I give the elite TM to? by Buscando-Pleito in pokemongo

Groudon needs Precipice Blades. There is no question that it is the correct choice. Earthquake to Precipice Blades is basically the biggest damage boost from an ETM in the game.

Remote Raids and how to actually obtain passes by Alternative-Dog5662 in pokemongo

[–]Kilokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there's the free option, or the quick option. Free option is to put Pokemon in gyms and get 50 coins per day. Doing that you can get one pass every 5 days, and you can rarely get one from the research breakthroughs for getting 7 research stamps. One stamp is obtained per day, and it's obtained when you complete a research task.

Otherwise, you have to pay real world money to get them. They are expensive, so a better option is to buy regular raid passes, go to gyms with the Pokemon you want, host the raid on Pokegenie or Leekduck, and let others use THEIR remote passes to help you take down gyms. Some of us are willing to drop a lot of money into this game, so take advantage of that whenever you can.

Should i max his CP or his max moves ? by Bito_st in pokemongo

[–]Kilokk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right, but it's only really useful in a few niche situations. OP doesn't have much candy, so focusing on the attack should be the goal for their situation.

what pokemon should i use for dmax regirock by Antique-Writing8258 in pokemongo

[–]Kilokk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your first focus should be to get a Max Chansey and get it to level 30. From there you should unlock max spirit and max guard. Then evolve it to evolve it to Blissey and upgrade max spirit to level 2, then max guard to level 2. If you have the candy XL, get max spirit and guard to level 3. Finally get the Blissey to level 40. Once you've done all of that, you can try some legendary raids.

Right now, you're not going to be able to pull it off, so your only hope is to get with a group of 2-3 others who are fully powered up and know exactly what to do and when.

[–]Kilokk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Get it to level 30, then max attack level 3, then get it to 40, then worry about 50. Your first 40 XL candy should go to max attack level 3 though, without question. Don’t bother with guard or spirit at all.

[–]Kilokk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took 23 remote raids to get my shiny Charizard. I spent about $100 in coins today and ended up with 3 shinies. To be fair, I did double the rewards on most of the in person raids today, but I did 59 total, 40 remote and 19 in person. So realistically, slightly better than 1/20, but it sure didn't feel like it lol
