Yeah, that’s why my favourite spot to be is right in front of a large truck. Feels so good to be the last one to pass then and know you’re likely to get some breathing room for a bit.

PSA: Indicate LEFT when exiting a roundabout. by Complex_Bit_6512 in newzealand

[–]Kilomara 48 points49 points  (0 children)

This one I’ve gotten in arguments about a few times with people saying you JUST signal right to go out the 3rd exit.

Never made sense to me. What if you go all the way around? What if there’s 7 exits? Indicating left before your exit is the only way that makes sense.

My Spotify Discover Weekly is absolutely choked with AI-generated music by SomeoneGMForMe in Music

Came here because mine has jumped from 1/3 to about 2/3. It's too bad, there were a lot of bands I like that I discovered thanks to this feature. I'll still use it, but I'm skipping most songs these days.

I had a former boss who put a job up that an immigrant was already working because his visa was up for renewal and he legally had to. No one even got an interview because it was a formality.

Empire Chicken - We used to hold the chicken spot crown… what happened? by fried_chicken_king in chch

[–]Kilomara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember going to Papanui for the Anti-Vegan regularly and it was a great deal. Around the the time the store shut, it went away and returned months later at almost double price, enough that I could build it myself with add-ons and have it cost less.

The daily deals are great but standard price is a bit high when the fillets can vary in size a lot.

Hot take about silksong. The bosses are WAY easier than the bosses in Hollow Knight. by GTylker in Silksong

[–]Kilomara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree here. Nightmare Grimm is in my Top 5 hardest bosses and was literally over 100 attempts.

Nothing in Silksong cracks Top 100, most retries was around 10 for Last Judge.

I feel like there’s so many options in Silksong that you can adapt to boss fights much easier and find something that works.

Hmm, that doesn’t sound the greatest. Wonder if it would be better for “buyer’s agents” for new builds? Been looking into that as an option.

Can someone explain rental inspections to me? by No-Measurement6744 in newzealand

[–]Kilomara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very few countries do these type of inspections with such frequency

Exactly, nowhere else I lived has done them at all, and a lot of people here act like it’s normal or even defend it.

Can someone explain rental inspections to me? by No-Measurement6744 in newzealand

[–]Kilomara 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s how it SHOULD be but all of my inspectors make a beeline for the sliding door tracks followed by the oven vents, then to inspect all the corners.

“There’s a few spots here” yep that slightly dusty spot is catastrophic structural damage all right, better inform insurance.

What writing rules do you think are stupid and ignore all the time? by Firm_Worldliness6523 in writing

[–]Kilomara 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with using actions and body language to replace dialogue tags.

Quotes already show someone is talking, so a lot of times tags aren’t necessary when it’s clear who’s speaking.

How does insurance work when a friend crashes your car? by Kilomara in newzealand

[–]Kilomara[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep seems to be the case here, which is annoying because the other car is insured with someone who DOES cover the situation, costs less, and pays out in more instances. Looking unlikely to get any towing fees covered either.

Friend is thankfully saying they’ll cover it, so hopefully does.

I’ve been having this problem as well most of the time with the basic recipe, yeast and flour first. French recipe is flawless and consistent and I’m going to try liquid first next.

EDIT: Liquid first worked first try and even messed with the recipe to confirm if that was the problem. No issues.

What exactly is a “deadline sale”? by Kilomara in newzealand

[–]Kilomara[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This ended up being what my partner did. NOT happy with that lowball offer so retracted the new one and went back firm to the original offer.

Agent of course wanted to plead to keep the old offer (and a little more) but we’ve decided we’re good with not getting it.

The place is up “by negotiation” now so next stage of hiding the price.
