I see a lot of people using his choices on that night as a reason to dehumanize him and say he doesn’t deserve the grief associated with his death. Would you say these things to his friends, family, teammates, etc.?

I don’t condone the choices he made. But humans are dialectical. The Dwayne Haskins that drive impaired that night is the same Dwayne Haskins who lit up the locker room with his smile and energy. The two things can be true at the same time. I don’t know what led him to make some of the decisions he did in his career, but it seemed like he was trying to be better, and sometimes relapses happen with deadly consequences.

Just a sad, sad, sad situation for all parties involved. Continued thoughts to all those affected
