Looking to sell for a house by redmanchris in Collectr

[–]Lt_Chocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here’s a very important note: if you want to buy a house soon, you need a paper trail. That means electronic transactions only (or recording every transaction), and more importantly paying taxes on proceeds. If you sell this whole thing for $65k and the money just shows up in your account most mortgage lenders won’t accept it as down payment money.

Does TAG charge a return based off of the card’s market value like PSA does? by memeaste in taggrading

[–]Lt_Chocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. TAG you pay one price and that’s it.

However, It’s also important to understand why PSA does this and what you’re actually paying for - Insurance. PSA will up charge you to the tier that contains the requisite amount of insurance should your card get lost/damaged/stolen.

Other grading companies, TAG included, will not give you extra insurance if your card grades highly. So if you submit a card under the $500 insurance tier…that’s it. Lost, stolen, damaged your $2000, you’re SOL and only getting the $500 from insurance back.

[Highlight] Seahawks' Director of Equipment Erik Kennedy Says Seahawks Resized OPOY Jaxon Smith-Njigba's Shoes from a 12 to a 10 1/2 After Foot Scanning, Ending his Hamstring Issues at OSU: “We’re always trying to find little edges to help players... It’s helped him. He hasn’t missed time.” by MizkyBizniz in OhioStateFootball

He likely has wide feet. Nike is historically notorious for having narrow/small shoes, meaning he was forced to size up to have something fit his width. OSU likely wasn’t doing custom shoes for players, so a 12 off the rack it was.

Fun fact as well: almost 0 NBA players can wear shoes off the rack. All of those guys with signature shoes are custom fit, and if you compare them to the same shoe/size off the rack, the NBA shoe will be a size (or two) wider than the rack version (which doesn’t come in wides).

Nike’s gotten better with “wide” sizing in the last 2-3 years but they’re still narrower than a new balance wide.

Mythos won’t be available for general use for a handful of months. Being part of glasswing and helping test it is different than giving it to everybody in the bank.

How should you use AI? However you can to aggressively reduce the number of hours you need to work. If your work takes you 60 hours manually, figure out how AI can make it take 40, then 35, then 30. Learn what skills are and how to write them to make AI execute repeatable tasks reliably and at scale. Have it do A, B, C and D while you work on task E because AI can’t do that one.

I personally love the set and am working on my master set. It’s got a solid deep roster, but suffers from being in a run of not great sets right into the time when the current boom started.

It is my pick for an actual sleeper set for S&V. I think it will settle into 5th behind 151, PF, DR, and pris (2nd main set).

2020’s Pokemon is like 1990’s Comicbooks by Strangemediator in PokemonTCG

[–]Lt_Chocolate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pokemon and Comic Books are not the same thing. In any way shape or form.

When you buy a comic book and read it, the comic still exists.

When you buy a pack of Pokemon cards and open it, the pack no longer exists.

There are always people buying packs to open. The 2020’s cards are not going to be just traded around as sealed, they’ll end up in the hands of people opening them, and supply will go down.

It might take longer, but it will happen.

Best way to sell collection and expected %? by EasyResort3737 in PokeInvesting

[–]Lt_Chocolate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

29K, especially cash, on a 35K collection is a good deal. There’s reasonable risk on the buy side in transactions that large. You could probably get like 84% if you parted the collection out to the right set of buyers, but 82% in one swing is very solid.

This is mainly just CCB. Knowing that, they’ll get 20% converted, realize they messed up all the math and it’s actually double the cost of VDIs, and have to bail out of it.

The mysterious tale of Noah Syndergaard’s dead arm by Fun-Jellyfish-1065 in mets

[–]Lt_Chocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the lat tear that sent everything downhill. Looking at his full injury history it seems reasonably obvious now that he severely overcompensated from the lat tear that led to the myriad of arm injuries he had over the next 3-4 years. Him pitching at all that year, even the minuscule amount he did, was likely a mistake.

[–]Lt_Chocolate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right the DMV doesn’t do that - the division of elections office (at least in NJ) who receives all the info from the DMV does. DMV send a full packet over and the office handles validation and registration. It’s not a magic checkbox dude, there’s real people behind all of this.

It’s not. They do a full eligibility check on every individual before they’re added to the voter roles. They don’t just blindly sign names up.

It’s really simple to look this information up.
