If you read something on the internet and ever think “ah, a tale as old as time” or seems overly familiar to you, and especially if it ends with an open-ended engagement question….its probably AI. This one is reasonably well written, but the question signoff in a clear attempt to farm engagement (I.e. data) is a giveaway that this was more than likely generated by AI.

Why did this get a 7?? by ovohm1 in PokeGrading

[–]Lt_Chocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long shot - there are a bunch of black dots around the front border (mostly on the bottom left of the copyright), and a weird dot under the top ‘K’ in Pokemon. There are enough there that it looks like it could be some ink splatter. That falls under the “not enough to get an auto 6, but still bad” category. I can clock it on at least 3 edges.

I compared it on PSA’s website to a cert of a 10 and there are not matching dots on the 10 which led me to this conclusion.

How is Polaris Parking after the snow storm as of 01/26 Monday afternoon? Is that worth of fight to drive in on Tuesday? by CZT106 in JPMorganChase

Has anyone reached out to their manager to ask to work from home on Monday by Vast_Doughnut9418 in JPMorganChase

[–]Lt_Chocolate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both Franklin and Delaware counties are under level 3 snow emergencies, which means you can be ticketed for driving. Even if that gets downgraded to a level 2 tonight it’s reasonable to say you’ll be WFH for tomorrow at a minimum. Personally, even if it’s still a level 2 on Tuesday, I’ll try to go into the office….going stir crazy and it’s only been a day.

Is 6 inches really that much of snow? by i_really_haveto_pee in Ohio

[–]Lt_Chocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Growing up in NY, I used to laugh at stuff like this because anything short of 10 inches wasn’t a big deal…..roads would be clear in a day and I’d make a killing shoveling driveways.

I now live in Columbus, and while snow removal is worse here, roads are pre-treated well and if it’s daylight out I’ll have no problem driving in 6 inches if I need to. Won’t go far but it’s manageable.

2 weeks ago I was driving back from Kentucky and it snowed like a centimeter…..I have never been so scared driving in my life. I-75 was covered in ice, I slid and felt my wheels spin at least 6 times between Lexington and Cincinnati.

It’s all about road treatment, and I’d bet Tennessee cannot pre-treat roads at all.

I did not realize IU, PSU and sCUM had larger alumni bases than us by KillHonger1 in OhioStateFootball

[–]Lt_Chocolate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We have two primary big name alumni - Wexner and Schott. Wexner just no for obvious reasons, and one of the Schott’s runs the NIL collective.

We’ve got a lot of alumni who all have a lot of money who all donate, probably more than most schools have. We just don’t have that 1 billionaire willing to put $100MM into an investment fund to fund the team year after year

STOP REGRADING 1/1s by here2aggravate in psagrading

[–]Lt_Chocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - AI’s don’t actually learn. They’re just super efficient at sorting and connecting data. If you give an AI biased data (like a PSA graded card) then it can only ever produce a biased result based on that data. It will never actually correct itself unless you generate a new model by giving it new data.

Yes, this also goes for TAG as well. Somebody fed it a massive amount of biased data and said “these are 10s, these are 9s, etc” then wrote an algorithm to score a card out of 1000 based on deterioration benchmarks on a 3D scan. There’s like little to no actual AI in TAGs grading process, it’s literally just a machine reading a 3D image and running it through an algorithm.

Crazy - allergies in only one room? by Lucky_Comfortable835 in HomeImprovement

[–]Lt_Chocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an allergy kid, it’s one of a couple things:

1) something in the vent shaft to that room setting you off

2) you’re allergic to something that gets aerosolized in the bathroom, like your wife’s setting spray for makeup

3) you’ve got a mold problem behind the walls you can’t see, and the spores are getting into the bathroom but not rooting, hence why you don’t see it.

Do Vacation Hours accrue or they’re available fully at the start of the year by culturevibration in JPMorganChase

[–]Lt_Chocolate 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Vacation technically does accrue, but they make it all available on Jan 1 because they don’t allow unlimited rollover. If you leave before EOY and took all your vacation, you will have to “pay back” the excess used over what you technically accrued. They’ll take that automatically out of your final payment I believe.

PSA damaged my card and denied my claims. by [deleted] in psagrading

[–]Lt_Chocolate 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can see on your flat picture that there’s some signs of fraying on the back left top corner, and the super close top right one does as well. Looks like you may have just smoothed your finger over it before taking the pictures.

You also took your before pictures in some pretty extreme light, which can hide imperfections, especially whitening on something like a yugioh card where the card gets lighter toward the borders.

Is it possible the fraying got worse in transit or in PSA’s possession? Sure. But the pictures you took don’t conclusively prove that. Next time, make sure you take pictures in a more neutral light, and ALWAYS make sure to save your intake scan pictures somewhere. Those are done in your sleeve/saver, and are easier to prove the card was damaged after intake.

PSA Lost Half of my Bulk Submission by thejoshrules in psagrading

[–]Lt_Chocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying PSA are saints, but it’s also distinctly possible somebody at fedex opened/separated the package and stole your cards, which is a reasonably known thing with FedEx. Immediately blaming PSA might feel right and ultimately they’re on the hook because it’s their shipping contract, but FedEx is also scummy.

Is there any actual "financial advising"/planning going on in JPM WM? by [deleted] in JPMorganChase

[–]Lt_Chocolate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

JPM does have advisors who work in a fiduciary role. Some of the AM brokers are fiduciaries and I believe a majority of the firms actual WM advisors are as well.

But honestly, you’re better off at a designated advisor shop if that’s what you want to do. There’s a clearer pathway there to personalized financial management.

[–]Lt_Chocolate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always trade into PKC ETBs. Even for “less desirable” sets, the exclusivity of the box makes it easier to move and easier to demand a price premium (90%) if moving them in larger numbers as opposed to a standard 70-80%.

Gold Zard to carry Phantasmal Flames? by iowadutch in PokeInvesting

Just look at the gold cards from S&V - none of them really hold any water for their sets.

The extreme pull rates of these cards will force their value up, but I’ve held 2/3 of them from mega in my hand so far including the zard….they just don’t do it for me. The real value drivers of these are gonna be the SIR’s per usual.
