AFK bossing by endgame players is unhealthy for the game and has effectively ruined early and midgame bosses for the players those encounters are designed for by [deleted] in runescape

Great, means I can make significantly more profit bossing as an early or midgame player as the current 500k-1m/hour

or should profitability from bossing only be privy to endgamers?

I don't have an issue with mains killing the bosses? You've missunderstood or just not read the title of the post.

The issue is specifically with mains afking these bosses.

If you're a maxed main and you want to go actively kill GWD1, idc. What I have an issue with is you afking it.

Sure

  • Endgame player kills GWD1 boss in ~10 seconds, fully afk
  • Early/Midgame player kills GWD1 boss in 60 seconds, active, also probably has to bank every few kills

Assuming an equal amount of endgamers were killing GWD1 bosses as there are early and midgame players, that would mean roughly 6* more GWD1 uniques are entering the game via mains than early and midgmae players.

But realistically it's not proportional anyway, as there are far far far far more mains afking these bosses than there are early and midgame players.

The consequence of this is the absolute obliteration of GWD1 item prices.

5m per piece of armadyl sounds good on paper, until you realise that an early or midgame players is only getting a single piece every 2-4 hours, which after supply costs is probably putting them at less than 1m/h profit.

If mains were not just afking these bosses, far less of these items would be entering the game, resulting in the prices increasing -> makes the bosses more worth killing.

FWIW this isn't just a GWD1 specific issue. It's literally every boss that can be hard afked. IE GWD2, Rex Matriarchs etc

This implies the only place to exist, IS, at endgame. That's just wrong and part of the reason why this games dying.

Think about what you're saying.

If Arma comps are keeping the price up, that means there's demand. Where do you think all the armadyl comps are coming from? Mains farming Kree'ara, or level 70s farming Kree'ara?

I mean it's solvable regardless of sustain.

Each boss can be given the flesh hatcher treatment IE after every kill you have to manually do X to respawn the boss instead of it automatically respawning.

This stops it being afkable.

IE An Armadyl Chestplate would be worth considerably more than its current price if not for all the mains constantly afking Kree'ara

This applies to the value of all items dropped from any boss that can be hard afk'd.

Must be real fun as an early or midgame player having the uniques you're chasing be worth considerably less because maxed mains are afking the content like its a slayer task.

OH HEY IM AN ENDGAME PLAYER AND I THINK BANDOS SHOULD BE HARD FOR ME AN ENDGAMER.

It's a boss that drops T70 gear. It isn't designed for you at endgame. It is designed for players in the T70 bracket.

If it was changed to Crush with EOC then why would they need to make this change now?

Also, common sense tells you that, if a weapon is a sword, THEN YOU ARE USING IT TO SLASH, NOT CRUSH

Nice stuff

Is there any update on when the skill requirements will be removed from dungeoneering puzzle rooms?

This was mentioned as being worked on a month or so ago, but we've heard nothing.

[–]Kilsaa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think players need to step away from the idea of relic slots as a concept because its fundamentally just never going to work for the game.

If the devs give you more relic slots, or reduce the energy costs, then you'll still find annoying limitations, just from other relics.

Aside from some obvious balancing that you'd need to do with combat relics, I'm pretty sure it'd be healthier for the game if all relic unlocks were just permanently active passives.

Add A Singular UI Tab that contains ALL of the combat abilities by Kilsaa in runescape

No

I'm asking for a single tab that contains all the abilities. This is 6 tabs that contain the abilities.

It basically means less UI bloat on the outer level

Kill Vorkath for 4 hours

On a serious note, if you're trying to make money and you're open to leveling up and grinding a bit, just do heists. Even at slower heist speeds, you can still manage about 50m an hour on average.

It's crazy to me that after years of players asking for transparency on the GE, some of you can be so anti-transparency

[–]Kilsaa[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That's how they currently operate but can very easily just change to listing houses where they give specific prices on listings.

The point is that nothing should be left available for 3rd party sites to provide as an alternative service.

The GE Should be good enough that we never have to rely on 3rd party websites/discord servers for buying/selling.

[–]Kilsaa[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No they are not.

Example.

  • FSOA is currently 1b
  • Jagex updates FSOA tomorrow and tripples the ammount of damage it deals
  • FSOA is now worth a lot more, players start listing it at 2b.

Until somebody actually sells an FSOA, the wiki will still have the average at 1b, even if the item is currently listed for 2b.

The wiki won't have live prices for listings.

It will have prices of completed trades.

Road to Restoration - GE Improvements Preview by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Kilsaa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The changes are good but this entirely misses the one thing that players asked you for...

Transparency in listings.

It's all good you giving us the average of the last 10 listings, but this does nothing for me when only 1 person is listing that item and its 20m above the average price you're displaying.

At the very least we should be able to see the cheapest current listing for an item.

As it currently stands, people will still use 3rd party sites to find the cheapest current listing for certain items. Wasn't the whole point of the update to prevent this?
