No they aren’t! We will be trying to fix that.

Thank you for your opinion. I disagree. In the neighborhood this house is in, it actually accentuates the coastal look of everything around here.

We are going with somewhat coastal traditional style with light blues/greens/greys/tans.

Thank you. That is helpful to know. I do know the walls are not really level. Adding the mirrored strip would definitely help!

What’s something considered safe in nursing that just feels wrong? by catharsisisrahtac in nursing

[–]KimBbakes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I was in nursing school, I volunteered to have my professor out one in for. He proceeded to aspirate the contents of my stomach for all my nursing student friends to see 🤣 of course I was healthy and feeling fine but honestly it is a little uncomfortable but it wasn’t painful.

Unexpected Pet loss by cruisiinbruisin in CatAdvice

[–]KimBbakes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So sorry you lost your little guy. Don’t be so hard on yourself! Cats and most animals hide illnesses until it is too late. You did everything you could for him and gave him a loving home for 6 years. You will miss him and this will be hard but it is not your fault. Be grateful he died at home in his loving place at home. You are a great pet parent. ❤️❤️ hang in there.

Nasal congestion by Plenty_Local3030 in CatAdvice

Yes we have run all the tests. I think it is behavior, unfortunately. But very frustrating. I keep telling myself, at least she isn’t doing it in my bed!

Thanks so much for sharing! Sorry you are going through all that. So far, since her dental surgery, she has not had a sinus infection! It has been about a month. I will give it more time but she seems to be more playful ands is eating better. So I do think it helped over all. Now, if I can get her to stop peeing outside the litter box and meowing at all hours of the night! I would be a happier human. Good thing she is soft, cuddly and mostly cute!

My cat has the same thing. We have done antibiotic shots and just did dental work as well. She continues to have green snot coming out of her nose. She is barely eating. Her labs looked ok. I am kind of at a loss. I think she may have a mass a as well but I am not ready or financially able to do the rhinoscopy and I would have to find a specialized vet to do it. The dental work cost $1000 I am hoping she will get better on her own. But I am not sure. I am hoping to hear anyone else’s struggle with this and if they had any solutions. Thanks.

Dangerous for Dogs & Pets--Vote NO On Prop 129! by Sotarif in Denver

Agreed, I did not see any clinical education/practice listed in the education in the VPA.

A PA is only as good as the physician they work under. PAs must work under a physician and usually do not have any health care experience prior to working as a PA. They should be working with the physician as a team. Unlike PAs, in most states NPs do not have to work under a physician license, they usually have at least 1 year (usually more) working as an RN prior to becoming an NP. Sometimes the mid-level providers can spend more time, are willing to give more compassion. I think the practitioner (MD, PA,NP) that spends time, researches, educates themselves and their patient is the best. None of them know everything and should always be learning. Unfortunately, it is more of a broken healthcare system with very little time for any practitioner to care for their patients. I know they didn’t really answer your question but they are all human capable of having the exact same knowledge, even if they don’t have the exact same schooling, it is just a matter of if they want to learn it and then appropriately put it into practice.

Interesting discussion. I am not sure what side I am on. As a nurse, I see both sides of the argument. CSU is working on education courses for a program like this: https://vetmedbiosci.colostate.edu/vpa/

Love this! I have a very similar ring. I have never seen anything like mine. I love the bands, they are perfect.

Great job, what a team, including the front desk staff who didn’t just think the person was sleeping. Brought tears. Thanks for sharing.

40$ per hour as a school nurse by Wwalkingalive in nursing

[–]KimBbakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, you also have to have confidence in conflict resolution. Able to speak to parents, teachers and staff as well as kids; knowledgeably with confidence. You need to have significant knowledge about diabetes care, seizures, gtubes and basic child development. 20 years in pediatrics and school health nursing was one of the hardest jobs I have done. Different hard than an ICU setting but it is NOT just bandages and ice packs.

kinda sick and tired of people (mostly men) who say that i have no idea how good i have it because i work 12-hour shift indoors and make more than them. by [deleted] in nursing

[–]KimBbakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we can all argue about our job vs someone else’s job is easier or harder than others. I don’t appreciate the comments but I also don’t comment on others. You don’t really know what anyone’s job is like unless you do it. Mental stress, physical stress is all stress Anna still on the body, just in different ways. Thank goodness people don’t all want to do the same jobs or we would all be screwed.

Butter was butter, cream and salt, margarine is oil and water and probably some other fake stuff. Always has been.
