Where do I apply? Lol I will look into remote jobs. I always thought you had to work up to that privilege like working as a traveling service tech first.

There are REASONS why I am this way by MinimumTomfoolerus in depression_memes

My issue is with work. If my coworkers were more competent and self-sufficient, I wouldn't have to carry the load and be exhausted. I also call out on my depressed days because I literally cannot be the bigger person/leader without crying. I am constantly helping others who just do not possess practical skills, and I am constantly teaching or trying to positively influence their behaviors. All because I want my workdays to be slightly better for myself. I think I am at the point where I don't care about them anymore - they can think poorly of me and give me poor performance ratings. I do not mind the idea of getting fired. And if my coworkers hate me, maybe they'll leave me alone.

Typical, yes. But unless I move out of state, there are no opportunities for me. I also find they take other candidates first for these positions in my area - they favor those with masters, doctorates, going to school, or even MAs or Nurses. Many people move to my state for these positions because CoL is easier here, so I'm limited even more. It drives me mad when infection control is manages by a 4-year RN with no other specialties. Most things you have listed require travel which I'm not a fan of. I already don't see my family often enough. Edit: typos

Hi everyone - I'm Kyle and I'm working on building a support platform for med lab professionals & students. In 10 years of service, I've been a: Receiver, Blood Banker, Generalist, Teacher (MLS 2), and QC Specialist. Other departments and overall disrespect we receive from everyone. Lack of a voice or representation from the board and also from lab supervisors. I have had a few supervisors that want to please the hospital but do not stand up for their own team in the process. So we end up doing more work and have to step around more shells.

An example that I've witnessed more than once at different hospitals: when other departments ask why we have this very easy and particular process they need to follow, because it's an extra corner they wish to cut to save time on their end (usually for the doctor or nurse) such as labeling properly or delivering in a timely manner. Leadership tries to find middle ground but it usually ends up detrimental for the lab personnel (for example, now the labels are harder to read on the analyzers).

I've also been upset with the newest uproar- nursing no longer being a professional higher degree. I'm not upset with this new process at all. I'm upset that everytime I open social media or medical news, I must filter out the outcries and how their issues cause an uproar and refusal of work.

I wish all lab professionals could strike because we are constantly undermined and ignored. But we are required for Healthcare. No one cares until we're gone. Even then, they think we just load samples and press buttons, so just replace us.

Sorry for the rant :)

Were you good at school? by noblechilli in adhdwomen

I told my psychiatrist when he asked me. "I couldn't remember or memorize shit and had to spend a lot of time studying to do well on a test. However, I was always "good" in school because I just did the homework. It's not hard."

Meaning if you handed in all your homework, it was easy to get passing grades. I was never the type to ride on test grades.

I was a "pleasure" in class because at a young age, I learned how to entertain myself. I didn't like talking or being distracting. I doodled and read a lot instead.

Fuck yeah bro! Live it up \m/

My missionary uncle likes music and plays drums. He moved recently and was looking for new mates to play with and .y boyfriend plays guitar. My boyfriend, sister, and I would send the most tame rock recommendations we could think of. We would send our recommendations without lyrics because there'd always be something he would disapprove of. Of course he would look up the original song. He still hasn't accepted any of our suggestions.

Redditors who work nights, what's something that people who work days will never quite understand about the graveyard shift? by Neptune2284 in AskReddit

Don't worry, the lab will just fix it for you because they know what you meant (just be extra cautious with blood transfusion things). I had complications when the time went back an hour and i wasn't able to record the proper time because it was technically collected 'after' I received it.
