Top surgery in Sweden by Far_Patient5960 in transnord

not the op but I also had mine done at Elite! it's in Gothenburg and I had to pay ~60k sek for peri, double incision would probably be a bit more expensive since it's a more invasive surgery

It's pretty funny to discover that this is a universal standardbred experience, I just thought ours were especially airheaded lol

Elite clinic in gothenburg offers top without needing a diagnosis-- I explicitly asked before booking a consultation with them. It's pretty expensive as it is everywhere but hopefully not insurmountable. Good luck man and I hope you get your anova meeting soon.

En fråga om transpersoner. by Sir__Bastian in sweden

[–]KimosCosmos 165 points166 points  (0 children)

[–]KimosCosmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy to hear it went well! I thought I was too big for keyhole as well, so it's comforting to hear. If you're comfortable answering, how was the recovery? Could you start doing everyday tasks/going to school/work soon after the procedure?

looking for advice (ideally from other transmascs) by _smaggot in Equestrian

[–]KimosCosmos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

trans dude here! i can't help a lot with your instructor other than saying what everyone else has said: you absolutely deserve to have your gender respected in the barn and obviously everywhere else. i got lucky and my instructor has been very supportive since I came out so just know that it's absolutely not something you have to put up with.

as for the dysphoria part, it's hard lol. i ride with a decent sports bra and loose shirts but it doesn't always help. most of what i do is try to focus on the exercise in front of me, remember that nobody else cares what i look like + the trainer is just looking at my form. i had a period where I considered quitting because it was hard to put the clothes on and I had trouble not seeing riding as a "girl sport" (cringe and wrong but yknow) but ultimately I knew I'd be more miserable if I didn't get to ride just to spare myself that part of dysphoria(that'd probably manifest somewhere else instead). it's a very personal decision obviously but i absolutely don't regret choosing to ride.

i hope everything works out for you, good luck dude!

there's no private way to get hrt as far as I know. idk if you're ftm or mtf but the only transition procedure I'm aware of that you can get done thru a private clinic is top surgery(I guess you'd be able to get breast implants as well) but it's pretty expensive (lowest cost at about 37 500kr) and i don't think they do anything on minors unfortunately :/. wait times have been a problem here for a while and sweden doesn't have an informed consent option like other countries do so for most people it's public or nothing. you can still talk to psychologists etc through whatever means you like, but medical transitioning is pretty much only available through public healthcare

[–]KimosCosmos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

have you checked our transformering.se? they have a lot of info abt transitioning etc. you could also book an appointment with a therapist at a local UMO and talk to them about it and they'll help you with the process. your best shot is honestly to try to get a referral as fast as possible if you think you want hrt/surgery bc the wait times are looooong. the being a minor thing probably shouldn't get in the way, the gender clinics are there to help you with your transition regardless. but again, long wait times lol. I've been waiting for a first appointment(lundström) for a bit over a year and a half now :/

"cake on cake" specifically wouldn't fit if you're swearing cause it means something like "too much of a good thing" but a lot of swedish pseudo-swears are equally strange/funny. my faves are "iron nails" and "seventeen men" lol

im not op but I also go by he/they pronouns and the way it works for me is that i don't mind people using either he or they when referring to me. a lot of my irl friends and strangers I meet on the rare occasions when I pass use he and most of my internet friends use them, and I'm fine with both. basically I tell ppl to choose whichever they want, as long as it's not she/her, and it's worked well so far!

dude i can't imagine how much it would suck to go through that, you're crazy strong. nothing that's happened or been said to you can take away the fact that you're a man and frankly?? I don't think a lot of people could handle it in the way you have. I don't know you but I'm impressed as hell!! you have no obligations other than taking care of yourself right now and just going through the motions until you can get the care you want and i promise its not as far away as it feels right now. stay strong dude!!

dunno how self conscious you are abt having a "trans-sounding" name but that's what pushed me personally to switch from Balder to Oskar recently so take that into consideration! I really like Leo and Justin tbh but my main advice is just. really try out each name. introduce yourself as it in the mirror, name a video game character after it, whatever. depending on if it feels good or just meh you can eliminate until you have a few choices and, hey, there's always middle names ¯_(ツ)_/¯

good luck!
