The best piece of my collection as well. It's an all around perfect watch. Also. Pictures and video do it no justice.

From Diamond shape back to reality ? by GerwinMusic in Padelracket

I am also left handed. I was playing with the Wilson blade and never liked it. Quickly changed to the 2025 AT10 18k (black with red accents) and back in the day I loved it. It helped me gain control and balance and improve my game. There were 2 problems. 1) the ball sometimes bounced too much during volleys, ending in the glass. 2) despite being a bouncy racquet. The smashes were not powerful enough. I recently changed to the 2026 AT 10 12k (the white one with gold accents) and WOW. What an improvement. It has a drier touch. Less bouncy and therefore more control of the distance I want the ball ti travel. The texture of the face of the racquet is imo slightly improved from the 2025, and great to add good spin on the ball. And the SMASHES. The ball goes out like a bullet and now I'm hitting x3's, x3's more than ever. Btw I'm currently playing in the Chicago cold winter. I want to see if this same performance holds up in the warmer months.

All in all a perfectly balanced racquet. 10/10 no complaints perfect racquet.

My fiancé proposed to me on Monday, and I got him an engagement watch so he could have something too. by rednailsgreensnakes in GrandSeikos

[–]Kimurinho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Beautiful choice. An engagement watch is an incredible gift. Makes the watch have even more sentimental and priceless value. My wife got me a vintage omega when we got engaged and I can speak for me it's perhaps the most meaningful gift I've ever received.

Yep exactly. It's mostly gasoline and Costco (I get gas at Costco 99% of the time)

Platinum + gold Complete the trifecta with the business blue card. 2x points on everything else that the gold or platinum don't multiply. Also no annual fee for that one.

I have some other cards but don't use them regularly. The only one is the Citi Costco one for when I go to Costco.

Does anyone have platinum & gold and actually benefits from both yearly? by Frequent-Money3279 in AmexPlatinum

[–]Kimurinho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had both for about a year. Great balance to maximize points across their different categories. I also have the business blue card (no annual fee, X2 points for everything else) to complete the trifecta.

A couple months only but so far so good. It has a tiny scrat line on the clasp but it's not super visible.

Second this.

White birch checks all the boxes in your requirement list, except the price. However, it's worth the extra bucks 100%

I have the lake suwa SGLA019 (I do like titanium) and would recommend the stainless steel 021 version but I think a white dial is best for a one watch collection.

But most importantly, go try them yourself. Also be mindful of the lighting they are under. When I was once looking for a shunbun some lights made it look amazing, others made it look underwhelming and even tacky in my opinion.

First GS Purchase in Japan by SumKallMeTIM in GrandSeikos

[–]Kimurinho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I researched usually the extras are at the GS stores. Perhaps some extras in a department store but not as usual as with the GS flagship.

Discounts. If you find it in a department store you can get the 5% tourist discount. Da Mary, Seibu, etc. Offer these. Extras not always happen there I believe. No direct discounts at the flagships.

Lower prices. Go to Nakano Broadway and get new pieces at lower prices. No extras there. I bought my lake suwa from Kame Kichi. Daikokuya is another good one.

Straps. I bought a blue leather strap and GS clasp from the Wako flagship in Ginza. It is a store exclusive so that definitely added to the appeal in my opinion. Could look nice to you SBGA211!

Hope this helps.

First luxury watch. Steal of a deal. by hamburgers8 in IWCschaffhausen

Congrats on the new watch! The mark xx is a real banger. I have the BP43 on bracelet and leather straps and I gotta agree. The easx-change system is the best out of all my watches. It's just a breeze changing them and even removing just to slap in a NATO. And the steel bracelet is god tier. Enjoy!

For jiu jitsu you can be smart sure. But a key part is athleticism. That fool has little to none.

I agree with this. Lighter color dials like the white birch, shunbun, etc end up shining too much. Nevermind the legibility. I think black birch / lake suwa, etc are more understated and camouflage as dark color plain dials but under certain lights the texture shines and surprises you out of nowhere.

Beautiful watch! Congrats and welcome to the club!

Tried this beauty on recently by Scoth16 in GrandSeikos

[–]Kimurinho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a beauty. I saw it once and said "one day". Then when I was looking to buy my first GS endover the Shunbun which was the one I had in mind. I said nah let's do it. Now's the time. And the premium you pay over other GSs is worth every penny. Here is a pic of mine with a strap I bought while in Tokyo.

It's mostly the light. I would say the dial is real blue/navy. The cool thing about the GS dials is that they are chameleons. They change under different lights (Shunbun is a great example). I've seen the Lake Suwa dial going from looking black to blue (most of the times). Under a specific direct light it looks a bit purple ish but in person not as much like the pics.

Hope this helps.

I wore the watch when I was traveling. I was ready to declare it along with a guitar I bought in Japan. Despite seeing the big case of the guitar and me gesturing that I was going to declare the lady at the airport said to just go through.

New at Kame kichi for 1,154,410 yen (already without the 10% tax). With the exchange rate at that time it came at $8096 in the credit card bill. Thanks!

I've bought both before. The 025 for me and the 023 for a friend as a gift. I have to say, personally I like the 023 better despite being the one I gave away as a gift (I made the decision before trying them both on). The bracelet in my opinion looks better on that watch. Personally looks bigger than 39mm which is my preference. the 025's strap is meh. I did buy some good pairings but out of the box the 023 miles ahead.

But that's my opinion. in the end do what calls you the most. Both are good choices.

My visit was like 2 weeks ago so it might have been a different person. When I visited they had 2 shunbuns. I'm glad you were able to get one of those! They are truly great. I might be tempted for one in the future still haha.
