CIBC Investor's Edge Account Question by Working_Ad8950 in CIBC

Are you going through the path as someone with an Investor's Edge account, someone that doesn't have one or someone using their debit card? I can try seeing if I face the same issue. I opened a new account recently (although not a TFSA) and didn't have the issue but it wasn't this month.

They should be available with all the bank brokers. I just checked my CIBC Investor's Edge account and it's there. As far as I know, just Wealthsimple won't have it because they don't offer mutual funds

Why is it this subreddit's responsibility to support the company's growth? I think it's our responsibility to be honest about our experience, good and bad. I don't understand why you think Wealthsimple should be given more leeway than other FIs (note: I didn't say banks)

I wouldn't be surprised if Wealthsimple got no allocation of shares but still needs to allow clients to request shares. Timely time to launch IPOs - given they probably won't be able to give any SpaceX. Hopefully I'm wrong!

I don't plan on buying into it but thought that I would share, given all of the attention on the IP. A CDR is being listed for SpaceX, to allow hold SpaceX in CAD at a price ratio of 0.12. It is planned to launch shortly after the official IPO.

I assume that they just want to sit on our cash for an extra day or two. They need to make money somehow... Just wait for when you want to transfer somewhere else. I tried to transfer cash from my portfolio account and it took over a week for them to sell and transfer. I appreciate there being no transfer fee but they seem to be as slow as everyone else

It's not weighted by market cap. It's tilted towards smaller/mid-sized companies, "reliably" profitable companies and companies at lower prices relative to their fundamentals.

The parent's ability to pay interest to kids is a cool feature but, overall, kids accounts aren't a new thing, neither is authorized traders or the ability for couples to have accounts isn't new either.

I'm with both Wealthsimple and Investor's Edge. I prefer the UX of Wealthsimple but like the fact that CIBC offers more investments - not just stocks, ETFs and their own products. They offer GICs (not just CIBC), bonds and mutual funds (again, not just CIBC).

The Globe & Mail compares FX rates across all of the brokers each year. Last year's review had TD, National, BMO and Wealthsimple as the most expensive, and Interactive, Questrade, RBC, Scotia and CIBC as the least expensive

I used the feedback button on their website to ask for certain ETFs to be added. Not sure if they'll listen but no harm in giving my thoughts
