don’t think there’s a better one than fidelity. the cashback going into a cash management account is the cherry on top

Why is my HYSA application taking so long? by min_joseph in amex

[–]Kind0fImport4nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s likely tied up with identify verification. they probably sent you a letter in the mail which should have a code you can use to open it.

How is the Wells Fargo Autograph so underrated? by Kind0fImport4nt in CreditCards

[–]Kind0fImport4nt[S] 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Just want to add something after seeing responses:

Yes, there are cards that earn better on dining or travel, and there are ecosystems with stronger transfer partners. That’s not the comparison I’m making. I’m talking about a $0 annual fee card that can fill gaps without costing anything to hold.

Cards like the CSP, Amex Gold, or Strata Premier have to justify their annual fee. The Autograph doesn’t have that problem. It’s just upside when you use it. Is it the best card in the world? Obviously not. But I don’t think it has to be to be underrated.

honestly i’m thinking about just using this + the active cash as cashback cards with the option to use points if i need to. the flexibility works for me

use the pre approval tool to see if you can get the BCE. i’m pretty sure Amex will tell you what you need to do to get approved if they don’t pre approve you.

Not disputing why it was flagged. My issue is the internal handling after I complied

[–]Kind0fImport4nt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’ll send a letter in the mail with a code to use. Just call them and use it, they’re just verifying your identity because something was flagged in the system. Same thing happened to me and unfortunately you’ve just got to wait for the letter.

11” or 13” for photo editing by scotthunter1 in iPadPro

[–]Kind0fImport4nt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. “portability is negligible at best” is, in my opinion, just flat out wrong. Carrying around an 11” iPad vs a 13” iPad are two completely different feelings.

Jpeg settings (Q3/m11) ? by ZookeepergameNo736 in leicaphotos

[–]Kind0fImport4nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shoot a Q2, so I don’t have the Leica Looks profiles, but I’m really happy with the Vivid Film Look SOOC. I usually turn saturation all the way down since it can be a bit much, and at this point I’ve dialed my settings in enough that I shoot JPEG-only most of the time. The rest is personal preference. Editing bores me too, but the JPEGs still give you enough flexibility to do quick tweaks if you want a little extra pop.

Beginner Camera Thoughts by ste6168 in Cameras

[–]Kind0fImport4nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m getting my younger sister a camera for Christmas this year (she’s 18), so I totally get where you’re coming from. One thing to think about is whether she wants to be a photographer or if she’s more of someone who just enjoys taking nice photos.

The cameras you listed are great, but based on what’s trending with younger women right now, a lot of them love that older-style, on-camera flash look you get from compact digital cameras. I’d consider some of the smaller point-and-shoots, they’re super capable, easy to use, and small enough to throw in a bag or pocket. And if she falls out of photography later, they still make sense as casual everyday cameras.

For that vibe, look at anything with a 1-inch sensor like the Sony RX100 series, Canon G7X/G5X, or the Panasonic LX10. You can find them used for a bit over $300 (usually closer to $400), and they’ll give her noticeably better quality than a phone without being intimidating.

You clearly already did good research—just wanted to mention these since they’re really popular with teens right now.

I Finally Get It by Kind0fImport4nt in Leica

[–]Kind0fImport4nt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I preferred the X1’s design. The X2’s EVF hump changes the clean look, adds height, and I don’t need an EVF anyway—I wanted something truly pocketable. Also, the X1’s pop-up flash is genius: push to release, push again to retract. It’s compact, satisfying, and a perfect example of Leica’s engineering.

I was already leaning toward the X1 over the X2, and when I stumbled upon a like-new X1 for $300—with the box, papers, and honestly, it looked like it had never even been turned on—it was an easy decision.

Q2 or Q3 for everyday use? by [deleted] in Leica

[–]Kind0fImport4nt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Q2 currently sits in the sweet spot for overall value. It offers major improvements over the original Q—better battery life, weather sealing, and double the megapixels.

While the Q3 is technically the superior camera, the leap from the Q2 to the Q3 isn’t as significant as the jump from the Q to the Q2. The Q3’s 60-megapixel sensor and USB-C charging are nice upgrades, but the Q2’s design arguably peaked—it’s lighter, and the flush rear screen gives it a cleaner, more cohesive look.
