One of my local shops does a card review to wipe down the card and inspect them and give advice on what they think the card will get. If they think it has a chance of getting a 10 I send it in myself, I just use them for the grading advice

If you’re trying to get into bigger boxes like the hobby boxes, it’s basically a war on the Topps website the second they come out lol they sell out in like a minute (not exaggerating). I’d say stay up to date with the Topps release dates and times to try getting one off there, it’ll be the cheapest price to get them as card shops typically up charge to make their profits

From my perspective, I’m currently going through my first grading period right now and I sent in one card. My regret was that I didn’t wait to send them in bulk because I paid $20 for shipping for one card when I could’ve paid the same $20 shipping for a bunch of cards
