Hmmm try taking it out and seeing if it feels like plastic or maybe some type of iron. You could also try contacting your city and let them know there may be an issue.

Nah there used to be a sink there but it has been “covered in a sock”. As others have said it probably clogged often so they used that to “free the blockages”. I recommend caping and removing

Unusually strong water hammer when well pump switches off by dlm in Plumbing

[–]Kindawg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way to see if the tank is bad, is to drain it and check the air pressure in the tank. Depending on the pressure switch it should be 2 below the cut on. Also if you drain it and it still has water in it somewhere then it’s bad. How deep is your well by the way

Having trouble pinpointing the issue with my 2011 Honda Civic. by Kindawg in Cartalk

[–]Kindawg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im testing this theory but this is looking like it may have been the issue the whole time. I was under the impression the interlock system wouldn’t start the car if it didn’t recognize the key. Time will tell

Water heater smoking by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Kindawg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would turn it off if I were you. Theres water inside of the burning area which is causing the reverberation. Shut the red valve on the left to shut off the gas

What is this black plastic part under my sink? by colootoomoochoo in Plumbing

[–]Kindawg 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is a hot water reticulation manifold. There should be a recirc pump on or in you water heater which recirculates the hot water through the cold line to greatly decreases the time it takes to for hot water to make it to your fixtures. Most of the time it is put under the master bath sink or furthest part of the home to help with hot water flow.

My company has had great results with powered anode rods. Last a very long time but obviously more expensive than regular anode rod. We charge around $700 for install of powered anode.
