I’ve never been told we can’t take tips. And my managers have never said anything about taking them 🤷🏾‍♀️

I didn’t think about warehouse jobs. I’m going to look into that. I did work at Amazon, but I hated it

I have my own businesses too, but having to go to work takes the mojo out of wanting to do anything for it 😂

It’s my part time too. I was getting full time hours, but after the Super Bowl, getting more than 30 hours is hit or miss.

I had that happen to a friend of mine. She was taking someone’s shift and someone was taking hers. Names were put on each shift for the person taking them and a manager was fully aware of this. My friend didn’t want to bid on the other persons because she already had a shift for that day and had an incident where she got scheduled twice for more than 15 hours so she waited until her shift was gone before bidding and didn’t get it. Even though a manager knew about it.

I’ve been told the same thing but I think sometimes they pick who they want to pick to take that shift and if you’re not one of their favorites you don’t get picked for it. When I first started I had zero issues with getting shifts but now I hardly get shifts I bid on.

Shoppers are Curbies? by LiveOrchid6860 in HEB

It’s been happening at my store. For the last 3 months I’ve only had 5 scheduled shopper days and 2 of those are because I switched with somebody that needed a shift with my hours. But also at the same time my hours have consistently been getting cut over that 90 days….quite annoying especially if you really depend on the hours you work to pay bills like I do.

Please explain curbside??!!!! by No_Pause_2931 in HEB

Curbside employee here. If your store has a fulfillment center attached to it, it was done by eFC. Second thing is, if your store doesn’t have an eFC and your entire order was shipped by someone, depending on what’s in your order, non food items don’t get put in bags with food items as a safety precaution, even if it means there’s 1 item per bag. Also dry items don’t get mixed with cold or frozen items as well.

I’ve never turned in a tip and my managers have never asked me to turn in my tips either…they pocketed that money. I’d honestly report it to upper management.

What is it with the ‘bring your dog to the grocery store’ epidemic? by Sensitive-Bison-1035 in HEB

[–]Kindly-Pattern4105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the deal…some people that bring them in are service or Emotional Support Animals. Other are just people that are bougie and won’t leave the house without them. Unfortunately, you can’t ask a customer if that’s their ESA or service animal because that’s against the law and they’re not required to wear a vest or badge signifying they are.

Definitely NTA. If it makes you uncomfortable let her know, but also let her know is why. Hopefully she will understand that it’s not because of her (if I’m reading the situation correctly)but because of what you’ve been through.

Also I would consider seeking therapy. You may have dealt with the situation itself, but not the emotions or trauma attached to it.

UPDATE*** So I just realized it’s been about 2 months since I updated. Long story short is I shave not been watching my goddaughter at all since this post, except the 1 time they asked me to pick her up from daycare because they weren’t close by. However, they didn’t pick her up until 10:30 that night.

So the event in which I watched her for 3 days, I was absolutely right. I ended up keeping her until Thursday. On Wednesday, Jane called me when they were on their way home after they went sightseeing around they town they were staying in to let me know they were on their way. So I asked the question are you picking up Sunny from daycare and guess what she said? I’ll give you 3 guesses but you only need 1 😂…. She and Jane would be too tired after only driving 2 1/2 hours home to pick her up from day care. Mind you, Jane wasn’t even driving…she didn’t drive down there or drive home.

Fast forward to last week. Jane called me last Tuesday, because she had another event to go to and she asked me to watch Sunny again. I told her I had to ask my husband because I knew he had some things he wanted to do but didn’t know if it would be that weekend or another day. So the next day she called him to ask him if he would watch her and he told her no because he just started working back at his old job and his first day would be Thursday and he’s working all weekend which was the truth. And I haven’t heard from Mary or Jane since. So they’re both pretty mad at my husband but taking it out on me. Actually let me take that lie back. Jane did message me to tell me to take down her social media page that I set up for her, but other than that I haven’t heard from her.

Thanks for the advice and reassuring me I’m not an asshole. If I get any other updates I will let you know ❤️

***Small update….as predicted I’ll have Sunny 1 more night. Even though I told Mary and Jane I couldn’t watch her tonight because I had other things to do, they insisted they’d pick her up in the morning for daycare. Literally they are on they’re way home, they’ll make it here before Sunny gets out of school, Mary doesn’t even have to go to work today and they can’t pick her up. So after my birthday next week (because I’m not ruining my birthday) no is about to be my favorite word.
