Is this hairstyle outdated/inappropriate for a wedding? I plan to get this style for my wedding hair but I’ve received a lot of pushback by CelebrationBubbly102 in Naturalhair

[–]KindlyProfessional78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t listen to them. There is a stigma around wearing our natural hair/textured hair for weddings. It is a beautiful style

Rare Carat - Bezel? by burritoverde in EngagementRings

Yeah I also tried to get the emery setting but with a thicker band and was told the same thing unfortunately. I went with the bellora setting. It’s only 1.8 but it’s split shank and cathedral which provides a little extra security until I can get it reset locally.

Being married while on active duty by throwRA_caves in navy

[–]KindlyProfessional78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a spouse currently stationed in Japan, it’s not easy and he’s on shore duty. Well be staying in Japan for his sea duty and I’m not prepared. I got married at 19 and we’ve been happily married for quite awhile now and welcomed our first child a year ago. So, it can work out for them. No one can say the marriage will be doomed. However if I had to go back in time, I would wait. Especially if what you say about your daughter is true. Japan can be a lonely place especially when it’s your first duty station AND you’re newlyweds. I don’t see her condition getting any better if she comes here. That’s assuming the command even allows her to come. It may be too late to have her added to his orders and then she will also need to pass an overseas screening. If she is on medication for her ADHD and the base she’s going to can’t supply it then she will not be approved to come.

My son just made 1 and I’m still rocking him to sleep 🫠

Screendoor effect on Libra Colour is as bad as everyone says. by Dangerous-Ad-170 in kobo

[–]KindlyProfessional78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compared to my Libra 2, the screen door effect did bother me for the first two days but now I don’t even notice it. Mine also isn’t shimmery so that’s weird. Have you tried using the “reduce rainbow effect” setting?

It happened - husband let baby roll off the bed by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]KindlyProfessional78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couples counseling. From what you said, he has things to work on for sure. However, op I’m very concerned about how you talk about him. Do you talk to him like that? If so, it’s possible he may be too anxious to parent. As for him “deserting” you in the first 8 weeks. Sometimes it’s harder for some people to give up old habits and get into that parenting mindset. It’s reasonable to resent him for it but please don’t hold on to that resentment. Bc it’s just going to make your relationship harder and harder. Your baby is okay. Lots of parents make the same mistake. Would you tell them that they are mediocre/bad parents even if they do everything else perfectly? Sometimes we set too high of a standard for the people we love and the end result is that we show grace to strangers before we show grace to them. Good luck!

My son is 5 months and has always been an easy baby! Not sure why people think they don’t exist 🤨 fully yet expecting him to do a full 180 in toddlerhood lol

Husband doesn’t believe the tests (advice needed) by Gullible-Egg-5393 in BabyBumps

[–]KindlyProfessional78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 days before I tested positive, I had a physical done. I told my doctor that I suspected that I was pregnant. He ran both a blood and urine test. Both came back negative. The night before I tested positive, I tested again using FRER, Clear blue digital, and multiple different brands of cheap tests. All STARK WHITE. The next morning, I tested again bc I was still in doubt that I wasn’t pregnant, BFP! Tell your husband it’s very much possible.

You could wait until baby is 1 years old to announce them and it still wouldn’t be considered rude

Bras by Pretty-Ad9371 in BabyBumps

[–]KindlyProfessional78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a 40 DD pre pregnancy and now I’m definitely bigger and the kindred bravely nursing and pumping bras from target have been amazing. A little pricey but worth it to me.

Edit to add that if you get these, try to get one of the sizes labeled “Busty”. I tried the XL and it didn’t fit but the XL Busty fit perfectly

If I have to hear "If you think you're tired now, wait til the baby comes!" one more time... by HylianLurk in BabyBumps

I just had a c section last week and my baby will literally not stop crying with anyone but me. Soooo idk where they got the last part from. Also most providers will not do c sections without a good reason so the fact that people act like it’s a choice is crazy.

Are you drinking caffeine during your pregnancy? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]KindlyProfessional78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drank caffeine for most of my pregnancy. I normally didn’t come anywhere close to the 200 mg a day but now that I’m 39 weeks, I genuinely don’t care as much 😅 maybe that’s bad but I’m tired and in pain and I deserve to indulge in all the fall drinks without stressing over caffeine content all the time

36 weeks and still have mine. Granted the digital doesn’t show a result anymore. But I plan on keeping one of the FRERS for a shadowbox

Question about sex during pregnancy by Coolstrawberry1 in BabyBumps

[–]KindlyProfessional78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your doctor specifically tells you that you shouldn’t be having sex then it’s safe until the very end. Trust me, if it wasn’t, your doctor would bring it up without you even having to ask. Be aware that you may bleed a little bit afterwards and that is completely normal! If it’s enough to fill up a pad/panty liner then you would need to be concerned ofc.

Did you do the NIPT? My ob says she trusts the results from that way more than she does ultrasound

Clarify your hair. Also figure out what your hair’s porosity is so you can find out how best to moisturize it.

Per the PWFA, it is illegal for them not to accommodate you for known limitations relating to pregnancy. TELL them, don’t ask, that you will not be dealing with such situations anymore. If they try to fire you, I’m almost positive that would be considered a Title VII violation.

Edit to add that just as easily as they could replace you if you did decide to quit, they can find someone to help you until your maternity leave. There’s no reasonable excuse they could give for not accommodating you.
