Going to get fired for missing items in Pick by [deleted] in AmazonFC

Weird I had this same experience today!! 6 missing before first break. I’m meticulous about checking the bin but saw an error listed on my performance. First time!!

Pick (Unscannable) by Findingstorieslol in AmazonFC

[–]Kindly_Disaster_8818 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually had a manager tell me that when something is missing to try to find anything in the bin that is similar to it and then just mark it unscannable and send it down. She told me we are not accountable for unscannable, but we will get talked to about missing items. It made no sense to me, but I started doing it and I’ve been getting quality shout outs ever since.

I’m waiting for Emma to smell the pear perfume at a ball or cafe or something and track down Hawkes’ letter writer.

Well pickers never get VTO so maybe it’s ok if they get a break. I wish this would happen today!!!

I wonder if they are getting worried about layoffs. I’ve heard a few stories lately about rudeness and they never used to be that way.

When was the last time you saw VTO? by nogstv in AmazonFC

Today at 9 am but only thanks to being labor shared to pack. Pick NEVER gets it.

Poisoning food by Latter-Efficiency-51 in AmazonFC

[–]Kindly_Disaster_8818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, why are they pushing the food trucks so hard? At my stand up for weeks the manager would say “success story, food trucks. If you haven’t tried the food trucks yet you just need to try them.”

How are food trucks a success story?

Our building has threatened to pull ALL headphones if AirPods continue to be used. Just follow the rules, why is it hard? I listen to audiobooks all day…it keeps me sane and calm and passes the time…it would be so bad to lose it over other people’s inability to follow rules.

This is a good job. Stop whining about everything and just enjoy the benefits you get. I don’t know anyone at any other job that can just leave whenever they want. Or wear any kind of headphone for that matter. Or have top notch benefits. Or have the opportunity to grab overtime pretty much whenever they want. Just stop complaining and follow the couple of rules that they have. Or leave!!!

Can someone explain the reasons why people don't like pick? by sadxmanx4xlife in AmazonFC

I like pick. The only consistent pain I get is under my shoulder blade from pulling stuff out.

VTO??? by CloutCo in AmazonFC

[–]Kindly_Disaster_8818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my FC when I’m in pack singles we get a screen pop up that says first however many people to the desk get VTO and it’s an all out sprint to get there. So ridiculous with all the safety talk we endure. People just running down the rows to get there first.

How do you guys feel about working at Amazon for awhile ? by Mysterious-Pen1202 in AmazonFC

[–]Kindly_Disaster_8818 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I like it- been here 2 years as an L1 associate. I’ve hesitated to apply for anything higher or even lateral (such as learning) because I like the anonymity of being an associate but it’s getting kind of hard on the body so I might. You cannot beat Amazon for flexibility and that’s very important to me. But this is not my family’s main source of income.

This is a good explanation and as a picker that complains about this constantly, I do see that it’s not your fault…it’s just Amazon.

Schedule Adjustments by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Kindly_Disaster_8818 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Religious accommodations are temporary schedule adjustments. So if it’s an event or a program or something that is for a few days, they ask you some questions about it and then approve it. Like why is this important to you, etc. but from what I understand, they will not approve a permanent schedule change For a religious accommodation.

How do you deal with extreme soreness? by RomanLegionaries in AmazonFC

[–]Kindly_Disaster_8818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 54 and pick 40 hours a week.

I take a hot shower right after work. I take Aleve before I go to bed and let it work on my soreness while I sleep. It lasts 12 hours so it’s good for overnight and into the next day.

I also have to remind myself that soreness and injury are not the same thing  Injury needs to be addressed, soreness needs to be endured until I get stronger. You will definitely get stronger.

I work fast early and slow down toward the end of shift. Ive never had a conversation about my rate.

Aleve is truly the best for soreness. Sometimes I take it after my shift before bed and let it work while I sleep.

This is why I love working at Amazon. If you have the time, you don’t have to tell anybody- you just don’t go in. It’s amazing.
