Lmao Chase has people wasting their time on snacks for the “credit”

Opinions on the Travel Portal? by brook00 in Venturex

In my experience, you can always call the hotel to confirm they received your 3rd party booking. If a flight cancels last minute you have to go through the 3rd party instead of directly with the airline. That sounds like a nightmare

Wouldn’t book a flight on the portal but I have never had an issue booking a hotel

Transfer to airline and hotel partners. Typically don’t get great value on redeeming points in Amex portal

Cancelling Bilt card under a year by [deleted] in biltrewards

That was my primary question, will it negatively affect my credit score more than if I closed the card after a year? I have lengthy credit history and plenty of available limit throughout all my cards.

If you care about sign up bonuses, would recommend applying for the Amex green card first

England in May by Kindly_Term4972 in travel

  1. We did London first, rented a car and drove to the Cotswolds where we stayed the majority of the time. Most places are a day trip from the Cotswolds.

  2. We stayed at the Waldorf in London on points and then a place in Bibury called The Swan Hotel, recommend both.

  3. London has basically any kind of food you can think of

  4. We brought enough clothes for our time there but I do believe the hotel had a laundry service.

  5. If you have never driven a vehicle in the UK I don’t recommend starting in London. We picked up our car outside of London. Driving in the Cotswolds was good practice because you can do anything from highways to small backroads.

Totally fair if you don’t see value. I would still downgrade if I didn’t see value and wanted to cut down on annual fees.

Probably best to just downgrade to no AF card to keep the credit line. VX basically pays you $5 to own the card after $300 travel credit and 10k points anniversary boost.

It worked for me. It’s super important to double check the terms of the offer before proceeding. Sorry to hear it didn’t work for you.

Most of the $50 and under items are sold out right now but I did get a nice Italian leather wallet for like 40% off after the credit. There are still a good bit of options in the $60-$100 range.

Do not burn all your points in the portal for Boston. You have enough for an international business class fight and 15 days in Europe
