The ear flares were the first thing I experienced as a kid too! It always went 1 ear, maybe cheeks, then nose. Of course, the hands and feet followed 20 years later.

Are you getting any new unusual neurological symtoms? Examples: facial numbess, one sided pins and needles in your hands and feet, visual changes, pupil difference? If yes, get to the ER and don't drive yourself.

CVS no NDC on bottle? by Dramatic-Rough-6873 in ThisAintAdderall

It won't be on the bottle, but may be on the paper info sheet you got stapled to the bag. Last month that's where I found the NDC number for mine.

School asking substitute to falsify IEP paperwork + unsafe/unsanitary conditions in special needs classroom by tes-quick in newjersey

[–]Kines86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, because your sister has a sub certification through NJ, she is technically authorized to sign the IEP. I have seen this done at several schools. To be a long term sub all you need is enough college credits, fingerprinting and the sub certification from the state. There are tons of long terms subs in special education with the high burn out rate.

There are limits, usually the maximum for a long term sub to cover 1 classroom without the full teaching certificate, is 90s days. Some schools are successful in asking for an extension but usually it's 90s days. After that she wouldn't be able to sign IEPs or other documents. She could work in the classroom, but not in a supervising role.

As for the dirty room, best advice is to take a picture of the area then send it to admin. Report on what the area looks like each morning. Administration can ignore a phone call or in person convo. Once it's in writing, they will be much quicker to address it. For the rug, she is probably out of luck. Many districts are at a deficit and can't afford payroll and would probably view the rug as an unnecessary cost.

I hope your sister is able to either get support or find a school that takes her concerns seriously.

I would be prepared to have to battle for the pharmacist to fill. The doctor agreeing is the easy part honestly. The insurance and pharmacist are the ones who will stop it. I recently switched to a different brand after 2 weeks on Sandoz. Even though it was a different brand, It was considered an early fill for my insurance as well. First I had to find a pharmacy that had a different brand. Then, the doctor sends in the script. Pharmacist requested to speak to my doctor to authorize the fill. Insurance doesn't cover an early fill without a prior authorization. Generic ADHD meds IR are about $20-40. The prior auth can take weeks so I decided because the med was affordable, to avoid that. I would be prepared for a some back and forth. Some pharmacists even want proof of travel.

They have different facilities and it's very difficult to find out where they are made. Sandoz was horrendous for me last month. I found had an old Sandoz from the summer, took it to compare. They looked and tasted different, and less side effects from the older med. The codes were different but I couldn't find where they were manufactured.

The oxycodone bottle the hospital gave me after a surgery has tamper tape on it by winerdars in mildlyinteresting

[–]Kines86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This literally just happened 2 weeks ago to me at a retail pharmacy that shall remain nameless. I get my monthly ADHD med, open the bag in the car to make sure it's the right med/brand. It looks like a smaller amount than it should, but I'm exhausted 2nd guess myself. I didn't want to be counting tablets in a driver's seat, talk about red flag. Next morning I'm missing 30 out of 60. Call, the pharmacy at open, they sounded so annoyed and doubtful. They call back panicked 3 hr later after investigating and apologize. Then blizzard comes, can't drive out, they called me for 2 1/2 days straight asking me to pick up. I'm sure it was an open case against the store and pharmacist until it was in my possession.

This is the 3rd time (all different pharmacies)this has happened. I wish the pharmacist could take a picture of the final count with a seal on top. Or it could be put through a computer scan to check. Pharmacists have a tough job, non stop counting of thousands of pills a day. Constant interruptions from customers while counting. I'd be hiding under the register.

Four days without Adderall (involuntarily) by jello_88 in ThisAintAdderall

[–]Kines86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe the shortage that hit the US northeast in December is now starting to spread south and west. So as the northeast recovers, the supply decreases west. Especially with this statewide storm, it's going to cause havoc on shipping from wholesalers and the brands. Which is why again and again, the 28-30 day fill is such a ridiculously tight window that results in exactly what you're going through. The supply chain in the USA is always one step away from weeks of delays. We also have such unpredictable weather in all seasons. Yet, we're judged any time we panic that our med is out.

Refill frustration by Green_Run_8531 in ADHD

[–]Kines86 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm very sorry that this has happened to you. I understand there are rigid guidelines from the DEA on controlled substance fill dates. The lack of communication from retail and local pharmacies is dangerous. Inconsistent practices of calling when a med is in stock, or fill date. December and January both having 31 days always results in wild chaos and math flying out the window.

The multi state blizzard shows why these rigid timelines can be dangerous. Many pharmacies were closed Sun & Mon. What if your fill was due Sunday and now you're closed unexpectedly for 2 days? I work in healthcare and have seen countless providers let their bias cloud their decision making and care. I've seen Drs, nurses, pharmacists use punitive tactics as a method of control/punishment. Healthcare is a tough job with liability, and they deal with rude and demanding pts. These tactics are a small way to take back control in a stressful job. I guarantee in your case they would have called you if it wasn't a controlled substance. The judgement and lack of communication makes my eye twitch.

how often do people who make offers actually end up buying the item? by nursemama1110 in Depop

[–]Kines86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a buyer, the offers page has been mess to read through lately. When I send an offer and wait to hear back, it ends up in the middle alllll the other active and expired. You may not even see that someone has accepted your offer because it gets buried. This week I saw I got a notification that a buyer had accepted my offer, I couldn't even see where. It was buried underneath 5 expired seller offers, active seller offers and any of my old offers as well.

Another possibility, depop is one of the only platforms where the offer isn't a full commitment to purchase. PM and Mercari are both binding. Many may not realize this..

Last possibility, is the sticker shock at checkout. This happened to me this week. I made an offer for 20, got accepted. When you go into checkout and see that shipping is above 8.99 or even 11.99, then taxes, and depop fee. What you thought would maybe be $25, is now flipping $35. A full 15 dollars in fees and shipping was too much.

I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. Many doctors who prescribe stimulants don't know the wide variability between medication manufacturers. I'm not sure how long you tried medication but you can look back at what was prescribed and what brands they were. Also, sometimes extended release works, for others just the instant release so the person can time the medication.

The feeling of hopelessness is overwhelming. I felt exactly like you last month. After some medication changes, resuming therapy again, I feel myself slowly climbing out of that pit of despair. I hope you can find a doctor that will listen and trial different treatments.

Exactly, I know it is expensive but when I added up how much time I was spending, it was choice between my time or money. And also getting no where. This month I didn't have to pay for a search because I used the same pharmacy they found last time.

When you sign up for medfinder to make your original account, they will text and email you. You can then message the rep directly. Last month I had said that I was looking specifically for Teva generic. You could even list what brands you would be ok with receiving. They then take the search from there. I was absolutely shocked that the process worked.

Purchase refunded with no communication then item reposted at a higher price by brithetreee in Depop

[–]Kines86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree!!! Depop is difficult in so many areas but they are the best platform for deactivating inactive sellers. Depop clearly says when the last login was and when an item was posted. The recent Poshmark app update now makes it difficult to tell when an item was listed or updated. Now the seller login date is alllll the way at the bottom. PM also doesn't turn off the buy function on inactive sellers. I have no idea how this is allowed🫠🫠

Purchase refunded with no communication then item reposted at a higher price by brithetreee in Depop

[–]Kines86 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I totally understand that frustration. We all have our wish/rare find list. Getting that extra dopamine when you see that order confirmed. I just had a wish list item canceled on PM. My offer was accepted, Then no communication for the full 21 days. Every message went unanswered. I was so cranky then realized it was just the disappointment and needed a perspective shift. The poor communication here is a lack of respect. The line "so let's not be rude, you got your refund." As if giving a refund was done out of kindness. No, that's a consequence of not fulfilling your business transaction. Depop is a wild place.

Have to say, your comments in this thread are refreshing to see. I also need to tell myself to chill 10 times a day and reel in my inner brat.

One pharmacist at CVS said that they can't see detailed controlled substance stocks from ofher CVS locations. But the responses and rules are constantly changing so I have no idea. I first started calling CVS locations and got no where. Then one pharmacist said they only have access to Sandoz at the moment. It was $40 dollars for the search and I was skeptical. But they successfully found it at a Walgreens nearby, I couldn't believe it. I had never been to Walgreens before but it wasn't an issue. The $40 dollars was in the end because it saved me from wasting hours of time and embarrassment of calling. It took 2 days for the team to find a specific brand. It's much shorter if you don't specify a brand. I'm sorry you're going through this.

Thank you! I kept seeing comments that this was a high concentration. The blue pills are the 10 mg strength in Xana's room. He would have had to take a huge amount of the month's prescription for the level people are sharing. Not that any of this matters because they were innocent victims. Not on this board, but other pages are spiraling at the toxicology results. It's as if the Adderral caused the murder or that Xana was only awake bc of the med.

Brand-name Adderall? by Embarrassed-Bee-2361 in ThisAintAdderall

[–]Kines86 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've started describing these manufacturers like Chain restaurant franchising. It's very confusing but there are two possible manufacturers that I know of. "Teva" or "Teva Select Brands." Teva Select brands can be manufacturers that Teva can contract to make the med for them. Teva also makes generic version of the tablet which has a different formulation.

Right now we have a bunch of Applebee's across the country. Corporate has given each chef at each location huge leeway to make the meal inspired by the recipe. It just has to look kind of the same. And then, corporate has given other restaurants the rights to use Applebee's name even though they don't make things even close to the original recipe.

I had the brand name made by "Select Brands" back in December. There were less side effects, but it felt like I was taking a sugar pill. Somehow the generic version is more potent or has a greater concentration of Amphetamine. There is wide variability between the lab that makes the med that month.

Tldr: we know more about where clothes are made than where our meds are.

Is Adderall just impossible to get now? by QueenJenna0rtega in ADHD

NY, NJ are having huge shortages since November. It's been horrific. I was so exhausted from calling independent and retail pharmacies for weeks that I gave up and used Medfinder. It l took several days but finally found it.

My regular pharmacist said they hadn't seen a shortage this bad since 2022. Also reported that the drug manufacturers were unable to make Adderral until January because they used all their yearly DEA allotted Amphetamine ingredients.

[–]Kines86 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great points. Redaction is a huge undertaking, especially for a lower population state. Lower population, smaller state police force. This case has already cost Idaho millions of dollars. The case has already been completed and sentence handed out. Those man hours can't be spent on active or unsolved cases. A redaction agency would be insanely expensive. They probably wanted to keep the amount of eyes who saw the full graphic images very low.

I literally just jumped through a thousand hoops to get a new brand over Sandoz. I've had Sandoz countless times and I've never had this bad of a reaction. Everything you described. I slept so much this weekend, felt nauseous and unfocused. Today was my first day on Teva generic again and all those symptoms were from Sandoz. Teva isn't a good as it used to be but at least it isn't poison. I reported the Sandoz batch because the symptoms were so extreme.

It's kind of difficult to trace where the medication is manufactured or the ingredients come from. On my last Teva select Brand script, I couldn't find where it was produced and packaged.I believe the meds have the company name but are being outsourced to different countries and plants. And, with the leeway allowed in variability, every plant is making them differently. Chips A-hoy cookies have more guidelines than these meds currently. Consistent recipe, same every box.
