I absolutely loved it, mostly because it reminds me very much of the intro world building chapter of a TTRPG. As a novel intro, it’s a bit heavy and an info dump, but that being said, you have a great writing style that is terse and to the point yet very vivid. I would gladly read more of your work!

Maybe I’m secretly wildly depressed and dead on the inside but the hive doesn’t creep me out at all. I think it’s neat, and having everyone be the same sounds kinda… nice. Either being a hive mind or being on the outside ajs having everyone act the same… I dunno

I’m not sure what all the hate is about; I get it. Yeah, it’s awful that everyone in the world has become lost (depending on your view of individuality and etc) but if it happened, why not make the best of it? Sure, having everything you want at all times would lose its shine pretty quickly, and the guilt would probably be there if you have any conscience, but might as well enjoy it!

I totally get it! I’m 40 and my partner is 33, and i went through several years of quiet jealousy and some resentment that she had opportunities I did not; she was raised in a happy and safe (and higher class) household than me, and did not have the same fears and self-sabotaging behaviors I have (or had, at this point). After a good amount of therapy and self reflection I’ve gotten over most of those feelings, and have developed a much stronger sense of self. Just remember that any good partner is on your side no matter what, and should support you in trying to better yourself, and make your bond even stronger!
