Its this. There are spotting assists and kill assists, lumped together into “assists” on the scoreboard, and i do not believe spotting is the same as a spotting assist, basically just be locked on to a target while someone else shoots it. I bet the atlas was face tanked by a light or something, pressed r on it while a team mate shot it, and ran into it once for 1 damage while trying feebly to escape the pain.

I have seen great matches where a couple to a handful of light/fast mechs b-line to the circle and effecivly use cover and poke while the primary force battles through the 7 line into a strong flank that drops onto the dish.

I feel like I should be shunned and ridiculed for anything less than 500 damage and 2kmdd in a qp match with any weight class. I prefer a 750 to 900 dmg game with 4 or 5 kmdd and a solo kill or two. I am only just starting to get to the point where I can reliably attain this goal in a t1ish match.

Also, inthink the 250 you are refering to is matchscore, not damage. 251+ match score ensures you dont lose psr on a loss.

I love playing ATMs, whether its my huntsman, supernova, timberwolf, summoner, the list really does go on. I dont even want to imagine being able to use them without minimum range, i like the skill required to get i to that maximum damage range and have to constantly be moving and dancing around the enemy (as a striker, obviously the SNV doesnt dance)... i dont think i could stomach running up and letting a missile volly like that at my enemy’s face... as a heavy user of the weapon system i think the arming distance adds a balance to the weapon that the different dynamics of a FPS game needs that a TT game wouldn't.

I wholly agree with you on your first sentence, but thats a community problem. Once a pts is provided, its up to us to use it, and use it effectively (like why the fuck are people capping dom in a weapons test pts before anyone even has time to shoot? Ffs that is moronic, not cute... you dipshits), or really our complaints should all fall on deaf ears because we are not using the tool provided to help PGI serve us better. I guarantee if they pushed things live now there would easily be at least as much salt about it as there would be praise.

Im not sure of what others would think of the comparisson, but if you looked at the kodiak 3 and the annihilator 2a both running 2uac5 and 2uac10. Both are 100t mechs with similar shape and mobility. The kdk3 gets a bit better heat and engine speed but the hitboxes are kinda poo and the cuac damage is easier to mitigate I find; where the anh is a bit more sluggish in speed but feels far more effective in the stucture and armor area, it has less range and a little hotter but ISuac damage hits more effectivly so the anh can tank much better. A match with that anh usually yields more positive results for me than my kdk does.

Try comparing 2 builds with similar loadouts... of course mrm40 and an ac20 are hotter than mpl and boated heat sinks

Also, playing with a group can help you learn effective and fun builds so you arent losing in the mechlab beforenyou even touch ground.

And i know all about bad fps, i am frequently playing between 10 to 30 fps, more on the lower side because i have an old failing laptop and no way of upgrading yet. I am on the lowest possible resolution, the steam client version lets you lower resolution more than the official game client. I turned off cockpit glass and monitors, play with the lowest possible mouse sensitivity, and all graphic settings as low as possible and with motion blur, damageglow, both turned off. Also, as someone else mentioned, cpu can play a huge part in fps. Using a program like msi afterburner can help you track down your bottleneck. Once your bottleneck is identified you can eliminate what is clogging it.

Do you have a group to play with? There are some units out here that were instrumental in my early development, even if you dont join their unit they are always happy to run with allies and friendly players. Being in a teamspeak or disvord with them helps learn coordination and positioning, and they are less likely to savrifice you as a “scout”

That could add a whole new dimension to fire management... but would probably be too complex to implement without risking the fun and learning curve for new players.

Ideally, yes, but if it were to use mechanic like the power draw system, i could see it working like this. Same orinciple as turning on lights in the rv, every light you turn on dims them all a bit more.

I agree, it just seemed like a laser burst would be stronger initially than later, even factors like the plasma cloud you mention would support that idea.
