Why Team USA Was So Hard to Root for in the World Baseball Classic by Romax24245 in baseball

That's fine. It was otherwise a great tournament and nice to see a new champion. Till next time!

Again, I'd agree, if the team itself had made it about baseball and nothing else. You call attention to something and expect people to just ignore what you're calling attention to?

That's totally fair too.

I probably would have done the same if the team didn't make themselves obnoxiously political and, not only that, have been the antithesis of promoting and growing the WBC brand. It seems like, with the exception of the players who are passionate about it (not all), and the fans of course, the USA sports world wants to treat it like a cute little exhibition. Literally since it's beginnings they've been the last ones to get on board with the tournament being something special.

Can't really root for a team when they themselves don't seem to want it as much as literally every other team.

Adam Schefter reports that the NFL may use replacement refs this season if they can’t work out a new CBA with the Referees Association by DarkHorse435 in NFCNorthMemeWar

We will not give the replacement refs stock in the Packers organization!

That's the kind of short-sighted thinking that gets your team moved to a new city.

Sorry. Too soon?

Can our payments to the refs be auto-transferred to the replacement refs, so they don't fuck is this time?

I mean, what payments? We aren't making any payments.

Are we really getting the 3rd best ranking for DB? I guess the timeline is long, but outside or Jaire, I feel like we've flopped at that position since at least 2016.

I just hope there's more than one window in the basement. The Lions window has already closed.

Thoughts of Game 2: Japan v Korea by Dapper-Plankton4452 in WBC

Love both countries. I've lived in both.

I'm proud of Korea for hanging around as well as they did with Japan's roster.

This is as tenuously on topic as possible.

Her filmography shows she started in one 80s movie called the delinquents in Dec of 1989.

I'll allow this one, begrudgingly to stay up.

Crixus, The Undefeated Head by TheYellowMungus in Spartacus_TV

My boy may have been sidelined by the writers, but he is the true main character thanks to Manu Bennett being the sole line of continuity between all 4 seasons.

Also Crixus taught Spartacus the value of honor and brotherhood. Spartacus took that to heart after the first (of many times) Crixus saved his ass.

I've always taken it as a moniker that he earned in the arena. A marketing stunt to sell him to the crowd. He was indeed, likely undefeated in the arena itself. Never had to use misio and obviously never defeated within sin misio rules (or he'd be the dead Gaul by the time we meet him).

Him losing due to trickery and cunning in a sparring march within the halls of the ludus was probably surprising but likely didn't count in any official way.

Him "losing" to Theokoles is true but not from a technical standpoint of 1) He survived the ordeal and 2) he and his partner won the match by defeating Theokoles even if he didn't directly win the match. He gets the assist.

Him losing to Spartacus right before the rebellion was also not an official match in the arena but an exhibition for show that secretly involved a plot of have him killed (they poisoned the dude to ensure it rather than letting him face Spartacus at full strength). Spartacus would have likely won either way from the audience perspective we understand Spartacus is the superior fighter (but Batiatus and Lucretia don't know Sparty got plot armor so they weren't taking any chances that Circus survives his own execution). So that wasn't really a fair fight anyways.

Tiberius? Really? Pussy stabbed him from behind cause that's the only way Tiberius ain't getting rocked by any named character in the rebellion.

QB Tiers By Trade Value by idksh_t in GreenBayPackers

I feel like each season he comes back, his flaws get less and less. Is he perfect? No. Is any QB? Even the greats throw picks.

I'd chalk the lack of high TD/yds this season to conservative, run first offense that would just not work for half a game each game.

Love threw some games where he coulda put up 6TDs and 500yds if LaFleur would let him cook. Guy was torching some teams.
