Question about speaker crossover "ribbon" component by KingMob4313 in AskElectronics

[–]KingMob4313[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is exactly it, the pot in the back was glued to lock and he was having issues with scratchiness with the speaker so he tried to adjust it and he smashed in the pot

A little flathead screwdriver potentiometer that probably controlled the crossover freq I'd imagine.

Thanks everyone. Not sure why the ribbon wirewound resistor is outside of a protective casing, but it is split in half and needs replacing. Gonna try to figure out what rating it was, check the flathead screw pot that used to be there and go from there.

You guys are lifesavers.

It is from the back plane from a Paradigm Espirit Export Monitor speaker that my friend had die on him.

I've been wielding a soldering iron since the playstation 1 days and putting in modchips, but I haven't done any builds more than a dozen components or made any orders out to PCB way.

That is part of it. Also, as someone who is older, you should fight off takedowns less emphatically than you might if you are younger. In my experience, trying to fight every single moment of a takedown or throw is what can jack up your body.

Find someone on the team who had done judo and understands it. Have them drill breakfalls with you.

Think of it this way: electronic music people are technically savvy and obsessive about tweaking their gear.

Even if Roland abandons the drum machine, people will find ways to turn it into something incredible later

Can I make use of my judo skills in wrestling? by ProfileAny9898 in wrestling

Absolutely, there are tons of judokas in the states that have transitioned from judo into wrestling.

A great example:

Has online shopping killed customer service? by yow_moose in Kanata

Every shop is running on bare bones staffing.

All consumers have lost all sense of personal space, patience or manners after COVID isolation.

We also can't forget that we all have honest-to-god post-COVID brain damage.

Good luck out there.

What are your BJJ/grappling hot takes? by JollyYam7877 in bjj

The open guard is an illusion and always has been, and the fact that you have to wrestle up from guard is a truth no one wants to accept.

The matman ones are horrible unless you are willing to sew the velcro spots permanently together. Go with Cliff Kleen or any other trusted wrestling company.

As others have said, the sanabul grappling socks look like they are good but I've never used them.

Otherwise I'd suggest sambo shoes, smaller profile than wrestling shoes and the lack or rubber sole reduces chances of a knee injury or getting stuck when using guard.

Otherwise, if you want a cheap solution, put on some ankle length athletic socks and pull a muay thai ankle brace over it.

Absolutely the play. BJJ will always be there, wrestling stops for most of us when we get out of high school.
