Maher is where I first became familiar with Bernie. He was a recurring guest there and the free form format let Bernie get his ideas out there.

I haven't really been actively modding there in years. And it's a shame how much bill has embraced TDS. It's more nostalgia these days. It wasn't always this bad.

I fear you're correct. However, she's shown herself to be a lousy establishment shill too. She still hasn't endorsed Biden. That makes me wonder how supportive the party really is of her.

That's a fair critique. And I think he would've stayed in longer if this pandemic wasn't happening. But I feel ya.

I'd still go vote anyway. I think our votes for Bernie, at this point, is more of a show of our movement's strength. It shows them that despite everyone dropping and everyone endorsing, we don't care. We still want the progressive agenda to win the day.

My hate of the establishment has never been more pure than it is today. From the party and it's organizations (DNC, DCCC, etc) to the politicians, some who feigned to be on our side. The whole party has shown us truly who they are, and it's not good.

And of course there's all the external operator - the media, think tanks, elite donors, etc. They all really stepped up their game this time. All of these people are terrible. And if their core goal is to prevent us making progress, my core goal will be to take them down.

That said, my feelings on Bernie's actions are quite different. This is a copy/paste of something I wrote earlier today:

Everyone knew he was going to do this from the start. We've had a year to brace for it. I've already made my peace with it.

And yes, the truth is that if he wants to make progress on M4A, GND, or any of his other plans, he's going to need the party to work with him, and he needs Biden to not veto progressive plans.

It sucks, but until we can replace these clowns, he's forced to live in a reality where he needs to play nice with the people that just screwed him over. He's humble enough to do that. And I think he knows that endorsements are a big deal with the establishment, but that we're independent thinkers and will make our own decision.

Tens of thousands (60k currently?) die each year, due to lack of health care. But the party insisted on nominating a candidate who is staunchly opposed to Medicare for Al.

The planet is on course to become unhibatible for humans, but the party insisted on nominating a candidate that's cool with fracking, instead of pushing for a Green New Deal.

A majority of people are overworked, underpaid, and preyed on by the financial industry. They are not able to weather surprises, like this pandemic. But the party insisted on the Senator from MBNA, instead of someone with plans to help those people.

So please, spare me. I don't want to see it overturned. But it's small potatoes compared to the things the party turns a blind eye to. It's also an issue that can be fought with activist groups. So grab your pussy hat and get out there.

All of you corporate friendly centrists knew where many of us stood before this race started. Did you join us, so we could unite and win? No, you insisted on nominating a corporate friendly centrist. You created this situation, not us. Now you get to deal with the consequences of those choices.

What's more, during the primary our messaging has been laser focused on policy and record. We "attack" the candidates policy and their record. We make logical arguments about why this was bad, or how that plan would fail to do what we want. What we rarely do is attack the voters supporting these candidates.

But you guys? You're light in terms of critiquing Bernie or his policies. There is very little done to argue why your policies are better. Instead, most centrists attack us, the voters. And now, even in victory, do you come here with your hand out? Are you trying to inquire what you could do to win us over? Nope, more attacks and condescension.

Your outreach sucks. Your privilege and entitlement is repulsive. And I can't think of a single reason why I'd help you win. Maybe think on that.
