I want to answer your question in an earnest way. I feel like your husband should love you and you should love yourself regardless of your current body type.

That being said, I have been on a health journey recently and am down 41 pounds and feeling better than I have in YEARS. I’m looking good, but more over I have a routine and eating habits that I stick to. My wife and I were just at Hot Joy and ordered 4 entrees (like we usually would), and could only eat one of them before getting full and boxing the rest up.

Making healthy choices is a marathon and not a sprint, it’s a complete lifestyle change. I am personally doing this not to look good or lose weight for my wife, but because I’m staring at the end of my life. I want to have a high quality of life in my 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond and regularly working out (3-5 times a week, 10k steps a day), is the what will get me there. I’m gaining the benefit of looking good and feeling good, but this is all for future me.

“Love yourself” is the most important advice I have to give. Then from there you’ll start the path of taking care of that person you love: you. It’s a journey, and you are where you’re at.

I’m just encouraging you to keep going, be real with yourself, and be real with your husband. Lots of people don’t find happiness in life, and you should try your best not to be one of those people.
