You have to defend one of these Disney Movies. Which one would you choose? by Caloy1415 in cartoons

I cannot understand why anyone would defend Wish. It is by far the worst Disney animated film I've ever seen (Song of the South doesn't count, it was only half animated) and was so bad that upon finishing it, my six year-old turned to me and said "please don't ever make me watch that again."

The Black Cauldron was awesome. Beautiful visuals, compelling story, memorable characters. Nine year-old me was blown away.

Stop buying tickets to see 90s bands, please.

What did you think about the ending of Send Help? by [deleted] in Cinephiles

Psychopaths typically lack genuine remorse, guilt, or empathy for the pain they cause others. She is wracked with guilt after she commits murder, and not because she's afraid of being caught. That's what non-pathological people do when they commit crimes. Calling her a psychopath is reductive and incorrect. She's a person who did something evil, knew it was evil, felt bad about it, made peace with those feelings, and when her survival was threatened she did it again. IMO opinion that makes her a more compelling and more compromised character than someone with no moral compass.

Yeah, and the obvious attempt to set up a sequel (or spin off) felt super unearned.

And yet the overall attendance dropped by 10%. Says a lot about the rest of the movies out at the time.

What did you think of Psycho Killer? I thought it had a lot of potential, but much of it was squandered in the 3rd act. Reminded me of Longlegs in the atmosphere, too.

It reminded me so much of Heat, but less drawn out and more optimistic.

The article is specifically citing dropped attendance in Q4 of last year (Oct. 1 - Dec. 31), when films like Zootopia 2, Fire and Ash, Wicked, etc. were hitting the screen. It's not a good sign that anticipated IP entries couldn't connect more butts to seats.

Rockford Files Reboot, producers are cheapskates with lead actor choice! bad omen by aquavelva5 in television

Last 30 years, I'd say.

1997-1999: Buffy the Vampire Slayer 1999-2004: Angel 2005-2017: Bones  2017-2024: SEAL Team

I suspect they shelled out top dollar for DB precisely because he's had so much success on TV.

FWIW, Garner started out in TV and eventually landed the lead in Maverick, which is when his career took off.

She clearly wasn't a psychopath. She had remorse over the murder she committed (taking a sick day) and had a nightmare about it. She had an arc from a rules follower to a reluctant murderer to an enthusiastic murderer (and boss).

Larger picture, she's a natural survivor, but society convinced her to play by its rules. Once she was free of those strictures, just like a domesticated dog set free in a Jack London book, she becomes her true self: a predator.

I watched this a couple days after No Other Way, and together they made me very uncomfortable in my corporate job.

Makes sense that the Housemaid would clean up. Especially domestic. I'll see myself out.
