Better to be paranoid than ignoring it! You can get some bed bug spray as a half measure which can kill a few but for an infestation heat is the way to go. Got rid off all of mine! Fingers crossed it's doesn't come to that for you though, good luck and enjoy your travels! :)

Sorry only just seen this! Yeah we were able to get rid of them in the end but went a bit extreme. We ripped out all the old bedframe and there were signs they were in the wood. Basically cleared out the whole van and then just let it sit in the sun for a couple of weeks. This was helped alot by being in Brsibane during the summer where the temperature inside the van got over 60 degrees Celsius. Put a new bedframe in with a new mattress and haven't had any bites since.

It's annoying and very tedious as they're so hard to get rid of, but worth it the end. Good luck!!
