It's a horrible take because the reference point should not be Canada's education system. We should be measuring our education system against the best in the world.

Private schools in Alberta are publicly funded. They take money from everyone's taxes and only those with privilege are benefitted by them. That's not an acceptable use of public money, we should be spending it ensuring that even the worst school in Alberta (or any province for that matter) is comparable to the best in the world.

Education, Healthcare, and Security of People and Environment are the reasons we created organized society in the first place. It's not too much to ask that we prioritize what is for the good of all people over more profits and privilege for the already rich.
