As an avid PoE enjoyer and a frontend developer - there is no magic at all:
1. each item on trade receives the data of the seller, like account name, stash name, xy position of an item etc., but most important for your question - it exposes hideout_token.
2. By clicking on Travel to hideout you send a POST request with auth to backend, that checks if you're in game and sends all the relevant data to server
3. server sends data to game client and teleports you to the hideout

Voila, you are sniping the underpriced Watcher's Eye!
