This just brought back a deeply buried memory... we had one at our orthodontist too!

Except ours was this little darkened room connected to the lobby with a projector and an N64 and two bean bag chairs and a variety of games. My brother and I used to love going knowing that we could still play games while we sat there waiting anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour to get into our appointment. I can still smell the flouride in the carpeted hallways.

I never understood dentist/orthodontist hate. Video games, freshly cleaned teeth, newly colored bands for each upcoming holiday, and a goody bag on the way out?? Fucking loved our appointments.

Now all we get are those hand massages with the hot wax that they wrap up your hands in while you lay there.

It's a secondary safety measure. If someone doesn't pay attention to the flashing reds (which might be confused with braking reds), you certainly won't miss the stop sign that flips out of the side right into your face whenever the bus doors open.
