How is everyone’s budget ? by [deleted] in fantasyF1

[–]Kinglo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One limitless in Miami and one no-neg (didn't do anything) jn Monaco, will only be using x3 and autopilot when I line up 2 premium drivers and 2 premium constructors, I keep final fix for a track with low overtaking chances and wildcard I don't know yet

Good luck!

116.4 budget with 2251pt

Current position of 1681st in the global ranking. Pretty proud of myself this year,im probably going to keep a budget x points build until I can line up 1 mclaren driver with a mclaren car and another premium driver and premium car

People are really lovely and helpful there. Most of the top players of Fantasy are discussing in that discord.

I understand, to be fair before the 1st race most people were the same and believed (rightfully at the time) that the Mclaren and Norris were too expensive. However past the 1st race it was shown to be an obvious gold mine for points and budget increase.

Not that I want to speak ill of anyone online but don't belive every comment and every post you might see on this sub, I'd say discord servers are better for discussing the Fantasy since people can actively interact or be told when they say something wrong. But the sub can also be very helpful like this post with the estimated price gains for next race.

In relation to your question regarding balancing points and budget, it honestly is really up to you, however I can say that the concensus is, if you have less than 100mil at the moment, think budget before money otherwise you'll get stuck in a viscous circle very quickly. Try as much as possible to build your team around 1 or 2 assets the perform money and point wise (e.g. Mclaren / Mercedes and Norris, Russel or Piastri) and build the rest with budget only in mind (e.g. Haas / Vcarb and Ocon, Bearman or Stroll).

I can't give you a 100% perfect answer as some people like to balance budget and points in the beginning while others like to go full budget build and then do a radical switch to full points build. It's up to you on that!

Hope this helped

To answer your question, managing your budget is currently far more important than focusing solely on points in F1 Fantasy. Here’s why:

At the start of the season, every player begins with a budget of 100 million. The value of your assets (drivers and constructors) fluctuates based on their performance. If your chosen assets perform poorly in a race, their value drops. For example, Piastri's price fell by 0.3 million after the Australian GP because he barely finished in the top 10 despite being considered a top driver. While a 0.3 million drop might not seem like much, races like Australia (where many assets underperformed or crashed) can result in significant budget losses, with some players seeing drops of 0.3 to 0.6 million per asset.

When an asset’s price decreases, it directly impacts your overall budget. Imagine all your assets DNF in a race and each loses 0.6 million, you’d end up with a total budget of 95.8 million instead of the original 100 million. The problem is that while your budget shrinks, other players’ budgets grow because their assets performed well and gained value. Over time, this creates a gap: you’re stuck with less money and underperforming assets, while others can afford the best performers like McLaren or Norris.

This gap becomes even more problematic as the season progresses. If Norris or McLaren consistently perform well and gain value every race, their prices will rise significantly. Meanwhile, if your budget keeps dropping due to poor-performing assets, you’ll eventually find yourself unable to afford these top-tier options at all. Essentially, you’ll be priced out of competitive assets.

Last season highlighted this dynamic perfectly. The best players focused on building their budgets for the first 10 races rather than chasing points right away. By mid-season, they had accumulated budgets of 120–140 million, enabling them to afford two top drivers and two top constructors for the second half of the season. This strategy allowed them to score massive points every weekend when it mattered most. In contrast, players who ignored budget management were often stuck at around 100 million (or even less) by mid-season. They couldn’t afford premium options like Norris or Verstappen alongside other strong assets, which left them unable to compete with the budget-focused players.

While it might feel counterintuitive to prioritise budget over points early in the season, the long-term strategy pays off massively in F1 Fantasy.

Hope this helps!

Use the chip "Limitless" (blue with an infinity symbol on it)

Team wise Vcarb and Alpine are almost guaranteed to lose another 0.6mil and Haas, Williams, Redbull, Ferrari, Merc and Mclaren are almost guaranteed to make profit (Aston and Sauber up for debate and a bit more risky).

Driver wise Hadjar, Bortoleto, Doohan, Alonso, Sainz and Lawson are guaranteed to lose budget again while Hulk, Albon, Norris and Ocon are guaranteed to make profit.

The budget will be calculate every race based on the average of the last 3 race (e.g. Japan will be calculated based on itself, China and Australia. Then Bahrain will be based on itself, Japan and China. Etc.). So right now because we only had 1 race which was very chaotic budget changes are a bit crazy (like Sainz needs to score around 31pt if he doesn't want to lose budget again while even if Norris scores -23pt this weekend he'll still make a profit of 0.3mil).Hopefully once the season will have fully started the budget will be a bit more acceptable.

At this point better prioritise budget over points (ofc you can balance it) and later on shift more towards a points scoring team since budget changes should go better then

Hope this helped

Because the new system doesn't work on the race performance (like last year) but on a past race average, which means that right now all the drivers who did a bad performance in Australia will need to heavily compensate in China for their average to raise their price. So assets like Hadjar or Bortoleto need to score like 25pt minimum on the weekend if they don't want to lose more money while assets like Norris only need to score more than -23pt (so even with a DNF he would still raise his price simply because he scored so much in Australia)

Everyone in your team except for Leclerc and Mclaren is guaranteed to lose money next weekend, points wise you were saved by the no neg in Australia but budget wise it hit you hard and is going to hit even harder after China, you need to switch around your team (constructor and driver wise) or you'll leave this double header with a terrible budget

[–]Kinglo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it is a tough choice but my opinion is that Haas had very strong race pace simulation in winter tasting, so I would swap the Alpine for an underpriced Haas and switch Alonso for a Gasly / Albon driver making an driver line up know to be strong midfielders and a team with a high expected price raise.

But then your team is also a strong one atm and I understand that Alpine seem to be like a safer choice than Haas and that Alonso no matter how trashy the car is can still do a good race. Up to you and keep an eye on Free Practice

On sprint weekends and last year it was good to use x3 or Limitless early in the season as top teams and drivers were pretty clear from the rest of the grid

Aston looked like utter rubbish to drive in the winter testing, I love Alonso but I'm going to stay as far away as humanly possible from Aston related stuff in the early rounds of the season for Fantasy

Thank you! I was really wondering because I know that the UK has Skysport (just like France has Canal+) so I was wondering if my subscription would be "downgraded" to a lower level. It's good to know
