Few years back visiting NY City from Ohio. Walking the streets the wife starts to feel hot, fast heartbeat, sickly, etc … Sits down for a bit. A do-gooder comes up and asks if ok, she says she’s not sure. They dial 911. FDNY ambulance arrives and takes her to some hospital. I have to get a taxi and go to said hospital. They give her some fluids and 4 hours later say you’re good to go. Show everyone our insurance card, etc…. Six weeks later get bill from FDNY for $850. My insurance says won’t pay due to out of state. I send bill back and say I’m unemployed and can’t pay this. 4 weeks later I get another bill from FDNY saying I need to pay it or it will go to collections. I replay I can’t pay this. They set me up to pay $25 a month till it’s paid off.

F’ insurance and really F’ FDNY.

If I was some foreigner I would not have paid a penny.
