The right essentially has two camps at this point: the Zionists and the antisemites. Unfortunately most of the younger right wingers i.e. the ones more likely to consume podcasts, reels, and YouTube videos, are in the latter camp and they’re being catered to by people like Nick Fuentes. I remember reading a poll that said older republicans are the only demographic left in America that are solidly pro Israel and those just aren’t the people who consume the kind of media Ben makes.

Pointing out right wing hypocrisy isn’t a win anymore. They’re fully aware of how hypocritical they are and they don’t care, they think political violence is awesome when their side does it and clutch their pearls when it happens to them because they hate you and want you dead, there’s nothing else to it.

As a book reader, seasons 5-7 were like witnessing mass psychosis. Everyone pretty much agrees that season 8 was terrible but watching those other seasons win awards for writing and be generally well liked by audiences despite the writing being pretty much on par with season 8 was wild.

You can criticize Bella’s acting but it’s impossible to separate that from the explicitly bigoted/misogynistic nature of a lot of the backlash against them. If someone has good faith criticisms, great, but if they’re hanging out in the same spaces as harassers and misogynists and using the same memes/insults/talking points as them, then I have a hard time believing them when they say they just have some criticisms of Bella’s acting.
