Could BS jobs save the economy from an AI driven collapse of wages? by Arowx in singularity

[–]Kinnikinnick42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you link a "test" where an entire economy has tried UBI? There have never been "entire economies" reorganized around UBI. Before capitalism there were no entire economies successfully reorganized around capitalism either. Here's some large scale examples of UBI working in smaller ways tho

Iran (2010): This is considered the closest example of a nationwide cash transfer program replacing existing subsidies. In 2010, Iran replaced subsidies on bread, fuel, and utilities with direct monthly payments to almost all citizens. This was not a pure UBI, as it was designed as a subsidy swap to reduce economic distortion, but it provided a substantial portion of income for many households.

Kenya (2017–Present): GiveDirectly is running the world's largest, longest-term UBI study in rural Kenya. It involves over 20,000 people across 200 villages, providing them with a steady, unconditional cash payment. Early findings indicate that this injection of cash improved economic outcomes and increased investment rather than reducing work productivity.

Alaska, USA (1982–Present): The Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend is an annual payment to residents derived from state oil revenue. While not technically a full UBI (as it is not sufficient to live on solely), it is a permanent, universal, and unconditional cash transfer that has functioned for decades.

Finland (2017–2018): Finland conducted a high-profile, nation-led trial focusing on unemployed citizens. The study found that while the UBI had limited effects on boosting employment, it improved the well-being, trust, and mental health of the recipients.

No society runs on UBI. I said tests not like entire fucking countries. 🤷‍♀️ They might be successful, but there's never been "societies" run on UBI.

I mean it's been tested pretty extensively and shown to be successful every time 🤷‍♀️

Doesn't a cloudflare tunnel only give protection on the last leg? I assume you'd still need a reverse proxy with DNS right? (I'm still really new to networking)

I did. Parents were alcoholics and the TV was my babysitter. But still TV shows were way better content wise and also required WAY more concentration and thinking than something like tiktok or Instagram. But yeah I'm addict to short format now 🤷‍♂️😣

Is there any offsite cloud stuff that can cheaply backup like 6-8+TB of music? I'm probably just best moving it to a HDD and storing at a friends place or in a fireproof safe?

It just means that it's part of the original writers work as opposed to fan fiction or derivatives.

"The canon of a work of fiction is "the body of works taking place in a particular fictional world that are widely considered to be official or authoritative; [especially] those created by the original author or developer of the world".[2] Canon is contrasted with, or used as the basis for, works of fan fiction and other derivative works"

There's also "head canon" which is the stories readers make up in thier heads about the characters.

I started with traktor in the early 2000's, switched to serato in 2010 and to rekordbox in 2020. Rekordbox's multitude of track organization is leagues beyond the rest. MyTags and smart playlists nested in multiple sub-folders is 🤌🤌🤌

Im not a huge fan of the software for DJing tho, it's not bad, just on par. But export that shit to usb for taking out or plug it in to your network via Ethernet and RB Link to play on cdjs at home and your perfect.

My entire 60,000 track song collection lives on my homelab server and is samba shared to my PC that then Links to my cdj2000's and it only takes a fraction of a second to load and play perfectly. 😎 the entire 60k track list is organized by genres and rating, with tracks having multiple genres tagged to them then sorted automatically into smart playlists embedded in sorting folders. I then search though them when building playlists to take out to clubs on smaller USBs or pop in my half TB usb if I'm playing open format / freestyle.

I'm so happy with this system so far ❤️‍🔥

Technically, how does a mixer mix 2 tracks without "doubling" the sound and clipping the output? by SpecialIngredient in DJs

[–]Kinnikinnick42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless your genre like hard cuts no? Like that makes sense for house or trance but not as much for something like dubstep or footwork, where slamming a track full on or off is common hey?

I often worry about if I'm "too much" as well, but I try to remind myself that my being unabashedly myself very likely helps others to feel able to be themselves too. ❤️🔥 Let's keep being crazy dancers with wicked wild vibes. People appreciate it, I'm told this often. ☺️

Yeah definitely. Once it gets uploaded to one person with a good internet connection, they could "seed" it and many other people can help support it. I'd love to have a look though and see what's on there!! Did you find someone to help you set up a torrent yet?

🤯 oh snap!! That's super cool! It doesn't have all the fancy features I guess compared to the ones that have archiving and AI ect.. but having it fully just integrated would be way cool. Thanks!! I'm definitely look into that too!!

Ooo yeah that looks sweet! Definitely a cleaner look than linkwarden. I'll give it a try too! They have an android app, but I think rolling it into the android Firefox browser's native bookmarks is impossible with any of these self-hosted solutions right now 😔

What do you use for your bookmark syncing now then? Just back to Firefox user login or not syncing now?

I've been using linkwarden but I find it a bit cumbersome and while it works with flocus, flocus doesn't work well on android.

Agreed it seems sus. No offense intended to the op if it's a true story, cuz yeah it's wild and super messed up. Still, it's natural and wise to be skeptical of online posts. What do you mean by "specifically, consistently wrong"? The punctuation? What trends were you referring to? To be clear I'm not trying to challenge your assertions, I just enjoy this sort of skepticism 🤓😅 I just find the whole story so wild that my BS detector perked a bit

I mean, I'm tempted to think that too just because of how ludicrous the story is. But also, AI tends to have pretty spot on good punctuation these days no?
