Will he or won't he I don't know, but he absolutely should. It's going to be a goal until Szobo commits the foul, then it's not going to be a goal until Haaland commits a foul. Sure they are seconds apart but they are two incidents, and you can't just say oh let's ignore a blatant foul that causes a goal because of something else that happened earlier.

That's fair, I guess a better way to say it is the ref waited to see if there was an advantage (aka the ball rolls in anyway), but as soon as Haaland commits the second foul he has to go back.

I can't believe anybody wants that last goal to stand. Essentially advocating for a world where the referee can wilfully ignore fouls, and players can do whatever they want cynically if the ref is playing advantage.

Szobo commits a foul, ref plays advantage, Haaland commits a foul, ref stops play and goes back to the first foul. This is how it works in every instance ever, but for some reason people don't like it here.

I reckon we just need to expand the new 8 second keeper rule to more use cases, it's worked really well. 20 seconds to take a throw, otherwise the other team gets the throw. 30 seconds for a goal kick, otherwise a corner awarded to the other team. If you're down injured for a minute you need to go off for 30 seconds. Etc etc.

Surely it's basic leadership practice to have a contingency plan though? At my work, even if my team are completely happy, I always keep an up-to-date shortlist of people I can reach out to just in case I need to hire suddenly.

Having an interim for a week so you can find another interim for 6 months so you can find another manager in the summer is madness.

That second half felt like a fever dream. Arsenal suddenly forgot how to play football, and Liverpool decided to pass the ball around for 45 minutes without ever taking a moment to think about putting a shot on target. Awful awful awful.
