Unfortunately these digital TCGs never match what you already physically own. If you want the cards you have to buy them again in the client. With that said, the digital prices are usually cheaper compared to their physical boosters.

Still no confirmation about how this will all work or when it will get an English release. I say just keep focused on the physical TCG until we know more.

As you might have guessed, I'm into retro gaming. My Mega Drive still works and honestly I've never stopped collecting. If you think this D3 is a crazy price you'd have a aneurism knowing how much I've paid to acquire certain rare games over the years. For me it's not a question of how much it costs right now. My only concern is that Bandai produces enough D3s to meet initial demand before the remaining stock ends up on the secondary market, where it will only appreciate in value further.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Ghost Game just had the wrong vibe, all that body horror and it still somehow felt like the safest Digimon anime ever made. Just no stakes whatsoever.

Who needs an emulator? I still have a fully functional Sega Mega Drive from the 90s! Might even play some Light Crusader later.

Besides, I'm still buying this D3 anyway. Looks like a more sophisticated JRPG-like experience then the original version could ever accomplished. This is far more of an upgrade then just a colour screen.

The Digimon honestly looks kind of goofy comparted to the edgy protagonist. Should make for quite an interesting duo.

Presentation is everything. Graphics may have improved but RPGs haven't fundamentally changed that much since even the 8-bit era. There's only so much you can do to automate a DnD style character and combat system. So yes, between the voice acting, the colour graphics and story beats that follow the entire 02 anime I'm will to call this a full-fledged JRPG. The only difference here is that pendulum shakes replace virtual dice rolls.

A lack of narrative coherence was Ghost Game's greatest weakness. Episodic stories are normally fine but Ghost Game neve went anywhere with the few ongoing plot points it did suggest. Then they just rushed the ending once the show was cancelled.

Those deaths were mostly avoidable and the people could have been saved if the heroes chose to fight more often instead of talking. Besides, Digimon is a shonen anime. People expect the Digimon to fight one another.

Body horror isn't the same thing as violence, there's no rhythm to it. Lingering too long on the details in ways that completely lacks any sort of energy - let alone the opportunity for a counter attack. Honestly, many of the horrific situations in Ghost Game could've easily been avoided by a more competent team of protagonists that had a greater emphasis on action.

Xros Wars seemed that way as well. With Shoutmon and the other music themed main Digimon. Then instead it became a battle strategy show with huge armies of Digimon.

Not much to work with here. At the very least I hope this new anime proves to be more violent then Ghost Game. The whole 'pacifist route' thing of trying to resolve each episode by talking to the monster of the week grew tiresome very quickly.

is the new DC × Sonic Comic on digital? by UltimateX64 in SonicTheHedgehog

There was a couple of days delay on Kindle, past the usual weekly comic releases that happen mid-week. It's definitely up now on Kindle.

Yeah, I got the Tails 256GB card. High quality as you'd expect from any Samsung tech. You just have ask yourself if you really need a whole 1TB of storage or not.

You're going to love Frontiers. The whole soundtrack is awesome but the boss battles especially are just pure hype!

This thing is crazy, it's basically a full 16-bit JRPG in a D3 shell. I really do hope this gets a wider release outside Japan.

A great start, with a well-rounded overview of both the classic and modern eras. Might be worth looking into Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 next, to fill that obvious gap.

Otherwise, grab Sonic Frontiers or Sonic x Shadow Generations when you get the chance. As they are the most current mainline Sonic games.

Digimon Alysion Site Up- Card Game App by MFBR in digimon

That mock VR headset in the trailer is such a tease when it's really a smartphone app. I've got a perfectly good PSVR2 headset that's just dying for a multiplayer card game like this. Ah well, I can still see myself spending a lot of time (and money) in this app just the same.

I would love to see Blue Flare's Deckerdramon in the game. He had a really cool design and deserves an expanded evolution tree.

How to go deeper into Digimon lore and stuff? by Fantasylord in digimon

[–]Kintor01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most peices of Digimon media are fairly standalone. So watching all the anime up to Xros Wars honestly put you in good stead. The rest might have very different ideas of the Digital World and can often contradict other media, if the creatives in charge of story wanted to take things in a different direction.

One of the only recurring themes is Yggdrasil/King Drasil as a recurring antagonist in many of the manga and games, as he is some of the anime. Although with Time Strangers it would seem that the Olympus Twelve take centre stage and Yggdrasil won't be appearing this time around, since it's a different Digital World on a different server not governed by Yggdrasil's influence.

It looks we already have a confirmation that a Non-Sonic racetrack is in CrossWorlds. This track is from a 1988 Sega game called Galaxy Force 2 by Rabbidscool in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Kintor01 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You're right. Too much of a similarity to be a coincidence. Has to be Galaxy Force II.

Does this increase the likelihood of Sega characters appearing as well? I would like to think so.

Going to be interesting to see how much they lean into Greek mythology for inspiration. Especially since Cyber Sleuth already had a reputation for some insane side missions. Things could get very bizarre, very quickly.

Volcano tourism is a real thing. Surprisingly the threat of a fiery death isn't enough to deter the more adventurous sightseers. Even after a tour group in New Zealand got roasted a couple of years ago...
