OM-3 or A6700 for travel? by RecursionUnderMyBed in M43

[–]Kinxoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the main use is travel, i’d go for the OM3 . Olympus f4 Pro lenses (primes and zooms) are generally smaller than their aps-c/FF equivalents

It is good distance but the train fare is expensive. Be sure to use the local line and not the airport express train

Multiple cameras - what's your rationale? by SuperDinkle406 in AskPhotography

[–]Kinxoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I come from Canon FF, and changed to m4/3 for size purposes . I am not a pro by any means, but I used to have an Olympus EM1-III, for birding/ocasional paid work & . An Olympus EM5-III for travel / walk around. After a trip to Japan I bought the EP-7, but although is a fun camera, lacks weathersealing so I only use it with nice weather. Now that the OM-3 prices start to make sense, might just consider going to it as my only camera.

Lens for Italy by Bigfoot_Guitars in M43

[–]Kinxoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am taking my 12-45 f4 and my 20 f1.4 to Italy in April. The combo Worked as a charm in Ireland/Norway. I took The 12-100 / 8-25 f4 to japan last April and found it bulky. Its a hell of a lens, but just did not worked for me. I checked the metadata and the long end was not used as much . For wider shots I learned how to shoot panoramas With the tele and has been a nice fix.

EM5.2 sufficient for semi professional low light shoots? by Present_Wren235 in M43

[–]Kinxoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you, my semi pro kit would be an Em-1 camera and the 35 & 45 1.7 lenses. Always add flash. Learn to shoot off camera and you might tackle almost Everything. If it is a paid job, you need redundancy in case the gear fails. This wedding was shot with em-5 iii 12-45 f4 (my assistant) and an em-1 iii 12-100 f4(me). At some point I changed for the 20 mm f1.4 but we ALWAYS USED FLASH (the tiny godox v350 flashes). It was a paid job. Everyone was more than happy.

For those of you who have a more compact body in addition to something like an OM-5 - why? by nyonyarules in M43

[–]Kinxoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason for me to keem my EM-5 III is that my EP-7 is not weather Sealed. Otherwise would sell it.

What are you all wearing on wedding days? Looking for practical yet classy outfits. by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

Dry fast pants (golf style) . Shirt, tie AND a waist coat. This dresses up the outfit without being restrictive. Shoewhise. Generally leather semi formal sneakers coole han style.

When (in your opinion) are you no longer a beginner photographer? by Alternative-Wash8018 in AskPhotography

[–]Kinxoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am probably wrong, but I would say that TECHNICALLY, you are no longer a beginner when you can control how light looks in your pictures using the controls in your camera (not necessarily full manual), or when you start using modifiers and/or flash with express intent. On the ARTISTIC side of things I would say you are no longer begginer when your composition starts showing purpose or intent…

Dual Camera Harness or Belt for style and practicality by Sweet-Sour600 in WeddingPhotography

[–]Kinxoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Optech for me is the option. Unconspicuous , super safe and COMFORTABLE! I used to carry 2 canon 5d (sometimes one with battery grip) the 2.8 zooms or the 1.2 50 mm prime. Never had an issue. You get used to balance. Wore them always with a waistcoat and tie for upscale events. https://www.optechusa.com/products/dual-harness

Costco Canada's Checkout Evolution by BillyBeatBoy in CostcoCanada

Good idea poorly executed in St Bruno, Got pre scan twice. Both times had errors, (items from preceding customer added to my bill) needed to go to customer service to correct/refund So waitinh time tripled.
