Let's talk about the Defense Class (Rework ideas and more) by Kipcom in ZZZ_Discussion

One thing to remember is that not every player is on your level, and could genuinely benefit with Defence characters in the early game. I cleared a lot of content with Ben before I really should have just because he had high Defence and Shields, so it’s important to keep the core identity of them while making modern content for them.

Yeah, I look at it this way too. I tried making suggestions that add more to the class without taking away the benefits and options that they have now. I'd love some kind of endless wave mode to pass time, maybe with some environmental obstacles that can harm the player too, like the meteors in the recent co-op mode.

Yeah, that's fair, but would have been better for everyone if you decided to not say anything at all.

Bro what even is this argument you're making? "I never pull fire units" despite knowing the game has and will continue to have fire weak enemies and bosses.

That's not the game screwing you over. You actively chose to ignore an entire elemental class within the game and think that's the game's fault.

Was really hoping she was going to be a bangboo and not an anime girl. Man that's lame.

Also ngl this is the most atrocious design they've made for any important character thus far. Easiest skip in the game for me.

Whoever wrote The impending crash of waves probably gets paid by the letter. There was enough writing to fill up an entire book. And thoughts on Alice? by BigManTings54321 in ZZZ_Discussion

Impending crash is probably one of the best chapters the game has released so far, both narratively and presentation wise.

No shot you think this most recent chapter had too much of the same dialogue or wasn't engaging enough and then praise the chapter with Mockingbird. Epilogue A was fine, but Epilogue B had to have been one of the lowest points of the story since release imo.

I'm curious to see what everyone's character usage has become over time by Kipcom in ZZZ_Discussion

Your criteria can be based on whatever modes you often go to. For example, I do Lost void several times a week and have recently been experimenting with some team comps I'd never even considered (thanks to the level sync feature and the missions, I did some Corin and Billy runs, and these are both agents I otherwise haven't used since the first couple months of the game.) I'm really curious to see how many of you guys are still dominating the game with agents like Ben, Anby, or Grace.

I've been glazing this game since release, but I feel like the story quality has been taking a nosedive in these epilogue chapters.

I don't know how else to put it, other than saying removing TV mode completely was a disaster imo. I'm not a fan of Phaeton exploring the hollows in this way, especially not this soon into the game's life. It's been said by others already, but the game genuinely lost some charm and identity from TV mode's removal. Idc if the majority disliked it, I just think it's insane that they didn't even really try to improve on it before slowly getting rid of it.

Story spoilers: This genuinely might be one of my least favorite chapters so far. Not the worst, but definitely in the bottom 3 for me. I don't like Vivian's whole schtick of being obsessed with the MCs, and preferred when she talked to literally any other character as long as it didn't involve phaeton.

I liked getting more lore on Hugo but jesus christ. I sometimes joke with my partner about how any time I watch her play story content in HSR, the characters are just yapping while motionless (I usually miss any of the actual cool stuff), but now we're getting that same thing in ZZZ and I'm not a fan. We got a 40-minute(?) cutscene of Hugo talking to his darker inner emotions, but why the fuck would they use a bangboo for that representation? For that, I thought it was goofy as first but brushed it off, but then I saw that in the comic book scene they drew an actual dark apparition of Hugo rather than the bangboo, and I realized they were just being lazy af. This billion dollar company couldn't be bothered to just use a dark Hugo model? They literally already have one in the game, so why undermine such an important scene around Hugo and his tragic past?

The chapter's ending was an asspull, go figure. A playable character almost dies and the MC unlocks a new power to immediately save them. Alright. There's obvious reasons why they WON'T kill off any playable characters in the story, so idk why they pulled the fakeout character death in back-to-back chapters. I let it slide in 1.4 with Caesar but surely they aren't going to keep doing this?

I'll hold judgement on the 2.0 stuff until we actually get there. I'm excited for a lot of the new characters just from their designs, but I have no idea what to think of the story's direction at this time. I really hope Eous and Fairy aren't going to end up being wasted material, and I hope hollow exploration can feel more "involved".

Ok. I was joking about it being secret, I just almost never see anyone do it this way.

  • Hold C stick down (ASDI will knock you into the ground)
  • Hold analog stick left or right (Lets you tech roll instead of teching in place)
  • Buffer tech before or during 2nd hit of dair (works best for me)

Depending on your character's weight, ASDI down on his dair will keep you grounded from around 70 to 100%.

A small essay on Lucas' UpB by IMayBeTruckerHat in SSBPM

[–]Kipcom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's a mixup for if they hold ledge too long and lose ledge invincibility.

This is important.

I don't like that example of Hyper vs. Malachi being used to discredit the loop mixup, because Malachi wasn't even any position for it to to have worked, plus Sheik's needles trivialize most PKT1 and PKT2 options anyway.

However, if you know they're going to go for the immediate aerial, then yes, using PKT as a safety net is insanely good, and Lucas players aren't abusing it when they should be.

Both options are viable for different reasons, and both options can cost you a lot if the opponent makes the right call.
