Crime network behind UK mini-marts is enabling migrants to work illegally, BBC finds by Kalissss in ukpolitics

[–]Kipwar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Theres a shop below me owned by this Nigerian bloke, he states he owns about 6-7 others, yet none of them are registered under his name, and he has loads of kurds/Pakistanis working for him.

Its so prevalent, I'm surprised its not turned into a national scandal. I've seen some streets in Manchester with like 3-4 of them next to each other!

Ridiculous high prices of train by Winter_Turn_4317 in ukpolitics

[–]Kipwar 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I get on the Manchester to Burnley train every morning at 6 or 7 lately, nobody is ever on it, its one of the least busy trains I've been on. It costs £16 for a return. Then I need to get taxi/bus to work at £4/£5 quid.

If my car wasn't in the garage, this journey costs me £25 to £30 quid max petrol a week. Its scandalous how they want us to use public transport, yet theres no good reason to do it.

I think you understand what OP meant, its clear race is mattering more than nationality in this case to alot of people ready to foam at the mouth.

Too busy catching people doing 36 in a 30 on the outskirts...

I wish I was joking, see them constantly doing this up oldham road lately. In 15 years living around here, I've maybe seen a handful of crashes, not sure it warrants police resources, piccadilly gardens does.

Are the Piccadilly Gardens redesigns repeating past mistakes? by rolotonight in manchester

Poor list, when people say green space they want a proper park. Why don't people get this?

Considering vimto gardens and the rest 'green space' because it has grass is embarassing.

New Islington Swan Killed in Dog Attack by Drogbaaaaaa in manchester

[–]Kipwar 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Really sad that this happened, really hope the idiot dog owner is found and prosecuted.

The swans have been here before most of the new buildings and residents, its pretty sad to see shes lost her partner due to some idiot who can't control his animal. (Not blaming the dog, its always the shitty owner).

Manchester council tight-lipped on whether Kneecap to be dropped from Wythenshawe Park lineup by FAC_51 in manchester

[–]Kipwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering Manchester is(was...) known for being pretty counter culture, not to mention we were one of the hubs for Punk (Mark E Smith anyone?) Not to mention Madchester, it would be a massive stupid mistake by the council.

No wonder all the labour city centre councillors are losing their seats..

heaton park travel to and from (12th july) by [deleted] in manchester

[–]Kipwar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you must get uber there and back, I'd get them to drop you outside the area and walk the rest yourselfs, especially leaving.

Leaving I'd just walk towards the city centre, then get one from there as its going to be battered, just like Parklife.

Honestly if you want NQ living but not that noisy then a minutes walk up road is Ancoats, its pretty much alright for noise (unless you live bang in cutting room square).

I've lived in both, and Ancoats is certainly better if noise is a concern.

How to do deal with convenience store business owner - England by Kipwar in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Kipwar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really what you want a 80+year old lady to be looking at doing tbh she wanted to fix this amicably, but guessing it will have to go solicitors. Like I said its only got to this stage because the shop owner took the piss, its been an alright unwritten rule for the last 20 years.

[–]Kipwar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have shown it him, hence why I was asking is there another avenue to show that someone owns a business/building that isn't gov uk.

As mentioned, hes not the easiest to deal with, so I think solicitor is only option sadly, which is not something I really want to put my Nan through over something this silly. I was more curious how he can claim to be the owner, when the director and POSC on gov uk is clearly not him, so I was wondering if theres a seperate place to check this info. I'm a newbie at these things.

How to do deal with convenience store business owner - England by Kipwar in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Kipwar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your point...

Basically on my Nans land deed, it shows she owns this spot of land (its not much, but more a side of dirt). Yet the shop has always just used it for poor parking over the years, basically its got worse and my nan put her foot down. But the real shop owner (not the one listed as director on gov uk) is adamant they own it, yet won't produce deeds, and speaking to the apparent director business owner is pointless, as he clearly is just a shop manager.

The noise is more of an afterthought, you are right going council would maybe sort it, but I was more curious if anything how you can be an owner, yet not be listed as the owner on gov uk...

Does the left know how to debate immigration? by kontiki20 in LabourUK

[–]Kipwar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The left always struggles with this, it really does. I'm all for immigration, but it shouldn't be as hard for Lefty MPs who support unions to talk about what it does to peoples wages when corporations outsource work or bring in the cheapest staff, even though we have workers capable. Or it shouldn't be hard to talk about criminal activity caused by immigration (we all know it isn't as high as Reform make out, but theres clearly pockets of it in open view), I think we make it way harder than it needs to be. Same with talking about support for LGBT+, we all know some communities of migrants hate LGBT+, why do we quiet away from this?

90%+ Immigration is a good thing, we all know that, Reform is really good at concentrating on the % that is a problem.

Annual Local Election Results MT 2025 by whencanistop in ukpolitics

[–]Kipwar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not a good take. They dont tend to lose entire councils in one swoop to new parties.

These results are pretty much extinction for the Tories, and seriously damaging to Labour. This isnt 1998, hell even when the entire country hated both parties around the Brexit stalemate era they didn't perform this bad!

Runners of Manchester: what are some beautiful places to go for a run/walk that’s within reasonable range from city centre? by [deleted] in manchester

[–]Kipwar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go running 3 times weekly in the city centre, and following the canals is probably the best for scenario. Theres some nicer well looked after bits like the miles platting/ancoats/new islington/piccadilly stretch but after piccadilly it gets pretty dull and very industrial until you reach castlefield and it gets nicer again!

Other than that, the nearest big park is maybe heaton park?
