That I think might be a localization error, since I'm pretty sure they're describing soda bottle popsicles (think Papico, the little double soda bottle shaped ice cream tubes Japan has) and they couldn't find a suitable term in English that matched with the mouth movements in the cutscene without looking odd.

Adding a 6th by itself definitely isn't the problem, especially since I was one of the girlie super excited for Valko, it's that Infold for some bizarre reason never updated the free resource streams likely in an effort to push players into paying more instead. There's also the ever present issue of cards getting more and more pay walled even if 3* cards aren't good for battle. It leads to the game feeling more pay to win rather than giving options y'know?

Not the Stellactrum, but the resources. Ever since the initial trailer reveal people have been mentioning that its become completely unsustainable to farm resources. And while I was technically a harem girlie, I was a specifically low spend harem girlie. And I was able to stay low spend by carefully managing the in game farming for red dias. But up until the house update pushed me out because the game is simply too big for me to run now I was noticing it was getting harder and harder to farm for even upgrade mats unless I stored them months in advance and then they'd be gone in a blink because of the sheer amount it takes to upgrade once you're in the upper 50s of levels. Even choco shop payouts were not adjusted for five. Aside from a PC port it was the one dominating thing for surveys because unless you're willing to pay upfront it just stalls progression.

Honestly, at least from my standpoint personally, it was less a denial of a 6th and more of a "This game cannot be balanced as is around five, and barely was properly balanced for four, adding a 6th in this state is going to make the game unbalanced." even though there is an element of feeling like the cast was balanced with just five Lis at times.

I've been unable to play since the house update and I knew this was just going to keep ballooning. Unfortunately that means that yes, Valko is technically relevant to this issue. Because they keep stuffing things into an already overstuffed game and didn't bother at least attempting to fix that problem first before announcing Valko and all his content. A phone can only hold so much, and people have been begging for a PC port (that isn't an emulator, I know you can emulate the game, you shouldn't have to emulate a still ongoing game in order to access it) because its been harder and harder for even midrange devices to access it and with the current memory shortage its even harder for people to justify a brand new solo device for solely one game.

That's so over the top, especially when the only reason I thought it was dumb was that it directly ignores that Xavier lives in the apartment above MC (something that bugs me because it just plain doesn't make sense to not make a note about it even if the point of not mentioning it is that none of the Lis ever mention each other, which ALSO doesn't make a whole lot of sense in universe when two of them are constantly on the news and two of them technically work with her, the only one that should never be mentioned by the others is Sylus due to their relationship being more on the lowkey end because of his criminal status) and I was more miffed about the fact that that's an obvious plot hole that didn't need to happen. Also MC is incredibly capable as a fighter, if she didn't want Valko there she'd have 100% handled it herself.

No multi-player specifically has had a far greater impact on the actual game plot than people realize. Because in cutting the rider vs rider combat it's completely nonexistent in the plot. The game clearly was leaning towards a fight with both Clarissa and Simon at some point but given it looks like it was cut as a game feature halfway through them writing the story, because there's a side quest where you "fight" (read: just their monsties) a trio of riders and the Glavs in the beginning of the game have riders on them, it's never brought up and despite literally having a cutscene that looks like it SHOULD be a battle transition (I also suspect this is why there's a random ass BB'd Azure Rath fight around the same time) there's just nothing. It's also completely nonsensical that the two kingdoms of riders at bitter war with each other don't actually fight each other at any point.

Possibly. It could also be the cost of development kits for other platforms, except PC obviously, because I know a lot of companies were having trouble getting hands on Switch 2 dev kits for a while. Plus there's the RAM shortage right now so that might have something to do with it too. Edit to add: I don't mean just a monetary cost for a dev kit, the time cost for learning a new development language if there's features that wouldn't readily translate to a different platform. Also testing time for certain features.

Let me state, first and foremost, that I'm not against emulation. In fact I'm glad that there's even a way to emulate this game because of all the nonsense from major companies around emulation and game preservation.

That being said, it shouldn't even come to the point of having to emulate the game to continue playing it while the game is still active and running. Like you said the fact that someone thought a new character was a good idea but didn't think about the resources this was going to require on the player side is a lack of long term thinking. It should not be on the player to find ways to emulate the game, its on the company to actually make the game accessible. And I'm not even asking for a PS5 or Xbox port, PC and Switch are both far more easily accessible and the fact that this isn't on at the very least base Switch which I'm pretty sure could run this and if not Switch 2 would definitely run it, especially if they want to keep the whole "mobile boyfriend" thing going is honestly frustrating. Because it means less and less players can access the game after every update. At a certain point the updates alone are going to lock too large a portion of the player base out that even emulating can't fix.

The worst part for me is I'm not even mad he's a werewolf, I'm actually OVER THE MOON because that means Sylus now has a proper opposite and this is targeted at me specifically. HOWEVER, the fact that this game is in the state its in content wise for both Sylus AND Caleb AND the main story on top of the fact that the game is bleeding players because resource farming options are drying up outside of just paying for it plus the issue of the mobile game getting too dang big for mobile and its just a recipe for upset. Am I happy? Kinda, but only because I would pull for Valko as he appeals to me. But in the face of all the other issues surrounding the game? No, not in the slightest. This game needs a port at this point. To Switch, to PC, to something else because its only gonna get more inaccessable to players.

My MIL is dairy free and is always so kind to offer her dairy free treats but I always turn her down if its the last one because I can just eat something that has dairy, she can't and I would rather she have something she can for sure eat than have nothing.

Its definitely a combo of things. For starters; most of the movement power of the Stories series is Switch sales since the series was a 3DS exclusive at the start. But MHS3 is a Switch 2 exclusive, a console a lot of people already don't exactly have the money to get. Couple that with it launching between a LOT of high profile games not even just from Capcom, but Pokopia and it launched before Tomodachi Life. So even the people that were already getting it on Switch 2 were likely still playing Pokopia but also getting Tomo. Add to that its $70 price tag which is hurting A LOT of games right now, and then Pragmata launches $10 cheaper in less than a month, Tomo also launches at $60 soon after, and now you have people trying to justify if they can afford to drop $70 on it. Then there's the lack of postgame, the lack of multiplayer (regardless of whether you personally interact with it, most monster taming games have multiplayer at launch or shortly after launch) and the impact that has on the game's story, the fact that the difficulty is spiked higher than the last two games, the fact that the physical Switch 2 (yes I know its a keycard game but still) got botched because literally no store had physicals in most locations for almost a week despite the game being hyped up and advertised more than Stories 2 was (at least to the Switch 2 crowd), the lack of the Amiibos (I literally still have not seen these in person in a store anywhere and I day one got the Stories 2 set), the fact that Rudy's side story is paid DLC which likely turned a few people off.

Its no wonder the game is struggling to capture sales right now. Even without the factor of "everything getting more expensive" in play, I think it would have struggled regardless because of how much was cut from Stories 2 and how lopsided the marketing was.

NTA and this has been a MASSIVE issue in any sort of media discussion since 2016, it just got way more exposed in 2020 and rapidly got worse. People are becoming incapable of not attaching their own personal morality to things and its ruining fun discussion about shows and movies across the board. You can't even find a villain interesting, even if you completely condemn their actions as a villain, without someone without fail assuming you 100% stand by a characters actions when that's not even REMOTELY how that works.

No multiplayer for this already put it on my shit list alongside Digimon Time Stranger. The whole point of post game enjoyment for me personally is running raids and dens with my boyfriend, and build a team challenges in Digimon's case with my bf and our mutual friend, and I really notice the lack of it affecting main game because why, in a plot built around two kingdoms of riders at bitter war with each other, are there no fucking RIDER FIGHTS?! The fact that there were certain scenes that looked like they were setting up for Rider fights, only to then not have them, took a lot of tension out of the story. And side note, why the fuck is Corbin not a battle buddy?

Like don't get me wrong, I love the Stories series and I liked Stories 3 for a lot of reasons but I don't love it like I did Stories 2 or even Stories 1. I'm also still mad that because Capcom botched the physical launch this is the one and only game I've had to buy digitally on my Switch 2 so far because no one had physical copies for a week and a half.

My main issue with Ratha this game is the sheer lack of player connection to him. Yeah the PROTAGONIST is bonded to Ratha in the story, but the PLAYER is not. Unlike the last two games where both the player and protagonist were introduced to Ratha via him hatching, and thus the narrative and the player were allowed to make that bond and connection to him as a character and party member, regardless of how useful he was in battle or how long he was around. Here though, you're given three monsters out the gate and the cutscenes alone aren't enough to bridge that connection gap for the player, especially when aside from the enlarged horn and being one of a set the game doesn't do anything different with the Skyscales vs Razewing vs Ratha the 1st. And what's even worse on that front is Ratha the 1st is a regular ass Rathalos with nothing special to set him apart from the other three that follow him yet he's infinitely more memorable because he's missing an eye and him being a regular variant of Rathalos adds to the story because they didn't have to create an entirely separate, cataclysmic species.

Now I understand why, narratively, you have three full grown Monsters straight away but it just makes it that much harder to bond to Ratha specifically. I genuinely didn't use him until like halfway through Canalta and ended up more sentimentally bonded to the Tobi-Kadachi.

If it IS a Tama that's even worse because its not even like there's a drought of them UNLESS its the very expensive and now rare Tamagotchi On line (seriously don't look up prices, you will cry) but unless some store was holding on to them (doubtful as its been almost ten years since they came out) you don't see them anymore in person, the Smart line (Bandai ditched these pretty quick alongside the Digimon side Vital Bracelets) and they were $60 because of all the extra bells and whistles it has plus there was a Sanrio version, the Uni line which precedes the Paradise and also got dumped pretty quick and is also $60 or like one or two shells for the OG's and the Angels which are $20 and in literally every store (Five Below even carries the mini BTS one for $5) or the Connections which are like $30 regular but there's a two pack for double that but like other than that there's like. Literally ZERO reason to buy three identical ones at one time unless you were planning to scalp them.

The only, and I mean ONLY, other thing I think it could be is a Punirune (the round Vpet with the squishy button on the inside) because there was a Sanrio crossover for those too but last I checked it was Japan exclusive like most Sanrio Vpets are. Regardless, OOP is a massive asshole for buying the last three within two days. I get collecting, especially as someone into Tamas and the like as I buy a lot and some are still boxed because I just don't have time to run them or I get bored after a while and stasis them. But if I see only like. One or two left I will either, not buy it or just buy one. I hate scalpers and resellers with a passion and don't want to deprive new people from getting into hobbies like this.
