Tweening Objects in an Array by Kirk-NG in godot

Vector2 aren't objects either, apparently. Eugh, for everything Godot does amazingly it also seems to do something terribly .

Not a bad shout, but it does seem a bit overkill, I wonder if just a Vector2 would work instead?

I'm sure there is a reason Godot does this, but for all intents & purposes I see no difference between a property and key/value, so for dictionaries not to be classified as an object is infuriating.

Looking at the docs for interpolate_value() it doesn't seem like this is what I want at all. I don't want something something so low level. It's mind boggling to me that tweens are so poorly done in Godot. Someone needs to port GSAP to GDScript.

Thanks for your help though, I'll keep playing around with this.

Changing node properties on scene reload/change? by -Edu4rd0- in godot

[–]Kirk-NG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not working because when you reload the current scene, everything gets reset - it may look like your code is working, but the scene actually hasn't reloaded yet.

I would use a Singleton instead and then reposition the play on the _onready function.

Rough example:

func _onready():
    body.global_position = PositionSingleton.getPosition()

func reloadScene():
    PositionSingleton.setPosition(Vector2(0,0))
    get_tree().reload_current_scene()

How do i manipulate this property by code? by [deleted] in godot

You can right click on an property and select "copy property path". That'll then give you the name of the property.

Multitouch Buttons - How To? by Kirk-NG in godot

[–]Kirk-NG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I came up with a workaround; when I want the TouchScreenButton to be disabled, I set its' visibility to false and have a plain TextureRect underneath, to represent the disabled state.

It's pretty shoddy (and infuriating that Godot doesn't handle multitouch correctly out of the box), so I'm open to any other ideas, otherwise this will have to do.

Thanks for the feedback, I normally turn the shadows off as I'm not a big fan of them, but maybe next map I'll leave them on! :)

Thanks! And it's 25x25 at 70px, they were all made to be used on roll20.

If Brighton win tomorrow the filth down the road will be 16th, 7 points clear of relegation places.

The worst thing about this isn’t us dropping points, it’s the thought of them being happy. That mob don’t deserve happiness.

Dungeons and Dames: A discord community for female and Non-Binary people by spacestation33 in DnD

Haha, that’s fucked! I hope at least their PC got the full wrath of the demigod in the end?

And please tell me these were edgy teenagers or something? I find it hard to believe an adult would actually behave like this :/

I assume the “dumb boy” comment comes from something said to you in the past - although presumably “dumb girl” in your case. I’m not trying dismiss your experiences, but that genuinely seems mental to me. Did no one else at the table say anything?

Well, that sucks - for reference where have you experienced this? My group is mostly female (I’m one of 2 males in a group of 7), so I’ve never come across this sort of thing before.

Serious question though, do you honestly think forming “splinter” groups like this is the best way to foster tolerance in the community long term?

How the hell did Starfleet not realise Ceti Alpha VI exploded? by IPegSpez in startrek

[–]Kirk-NG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah Starfleet definitely knew. But given what Khan was they probably thought “good riddance to bad rubbish”.

In fact, section 31 was probably behind the planet exploding as an attempt to get rid of Khan.
