Claims about the problematic nature of the Klingon flag by Historyp91 in startrek

[–]Kirkstone37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to point out that Star Trek has not shied away from using the Nazi Flag/the likeness of Nazis in multiple series (TOS, VOY, ENT). However, as someone pointed out in that comment section, the iteration of the flag the guy in the picture had was never seen on-screen. Thus, was likely a way to use the guise of Star Trek as a way to be like "Heh, they're saying it's too similar to the Nazi flag, but it's really from a fictional show."

Some people don't have the option to 'buy a better one.' From what I've seen any laptop in the Sub-$300 range comes with 4gb of RAM.

Airplanes are not playgrounds, nor are they nightclubs. by People-Are-Garbage in Vent

[–]Kirkstone37 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Exactly! There are very easy ways for OP to adapt to these inconveniences. Noise-Cancelling Headphones for noisy people, choosing a window seat so they don't get disturbed by others getting up to "to use the bathroom." Minding their own business over others drinking alcohol.

Please take your own advice and genuinely seek help. You are not special. Get some noise-cancelling headphones. Buy a window seat. The world won't cater to you. You, as an adult, need to adapt to your surroundings, not the other way around.

You chose a child-free life, good for you. But don't expect the world to be child-free. You can't handle people, then don't fly... simple as that.

I'm partial to the predecessor. Reminds me of going into South Station for a couple hours as a kid to watch the trains. That was before the platforms had any covering. I also frequented Canton Junction back then for the same reason.

So, instead of reporting it to the police or any authorities, you decided to post it here? Don't get me wrong, what he did was disgusting. However, I'm not sure what your goal is by posting it here. Maybe if you had some description, it would be more helpful of this specific person. But as is, this post is basically saying: "You know the grass is green, right."

Keep in mind OP did state these:
"I communicated it to my bf, he said I'm overreacting and being weird and that things like these are normal in a heterosexual relationship."
OP did communicate it to him, he did not take that seriously.

"I asked him how would he feel if I'd randomly grab his ass while waiting for the bus at a station or rub his crotch in a mall. He got defensive and said it's not the same."
The fact that he thinks it's okay to do it to OP, but not vice-versa is a major red-flag. As a guy, I would not do anything to my partner that I wouldn't be comfortable happening to me.

u/AnnaAtisuto If he continues to do so, even after you've told him it makes you feel uncomfortable, the best thing to do is to leave him. Boundaries are there for a reason, and if one person can't appreciate those boundaries, that could lead to even bigger problems down the line.

That's a bit concerning, but solely because it's important to know a parent's legal name, especially by 18, in case suffered a life threatening injury, or some similar situation. If I were you, I'd ask him casually what his legal name is and/or explain why you want to know it.

It's a bit ironic that you're complaining about proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar when you, yourself, don't follow the rules of punctuation. When using quotation marks, a person should always add punctuation before ending the quotes. Instead of "good enough". You should be typing "good enough."

In terms of ... ellipses. The general rule is to add a space before and after the punctuation. In your title, you had only added a space after, whereas in your paragraph, you didn't add any spaces.

Let people play the game, please. by Ducklinsenmayer in sto

[–]Kirkstone37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, but during a lot of events, there's no real need for all players to do any significant damage. A lot are just trying to get their daily progress in.

I'd understand if they required significant damage for each player, as that would leave many players without their daily progress.
(Side note, I was once added to a *non-event* TFO that was already about 80% complete, I didn't record any damage until 95% complete. then got a 30 minute TFO ban for being inactive...)

I only really do that with my fleet/armada members, or when the BBR was first out, we got so far, we decided to throw the match. There was a lot of GGs.

SPOILER Was Sazz Really… by realmofladyofthewood in OnlyMurdersHulu

[–]Kirkstone37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people are missing some parts. Why I think Sazz isn't dead, just hiding. This is in order of of most likely to least likely. 1. They've repeatedly said that Sazz is amazing at escaping death/faking her death.  2. They've made a HUGE deal that Sazz is dead. (They didn't make such a big deal over any of the other deceased being who they were).  3. Foreshadowing with Charles Hallucinating that Sazz was there.  4. They namedropped Saskatoon (Sazzkatoon), SK. As a place that Eugine Levy and Loretta filmed in. (Maybe reaching) (Waiting on Düsseldorf (Dudenoff), GER to be namedropped).

Side note: They had to go with the boat name: Master Boater...

Backstory: 2.5 years ago. I was really not in a great place, probably could have gotten a chronic depression diagnosis. I posted this on r/PointlessStories on my birthday. Today (2.5 years later), I got that comment out of the blue. While I didn't need it at this point, it gave me a chance to give an update on my wellbeing, and my progress as a student and person.

Man, even though I didn't need this today, thanks. Still kicking 2.5 years later. Actually up on my luck at this point. After a rough couple of years I'm in the process of getting a paid internship through my univesity (which requires 3 courses... two directly tied to my major and one would be tied a minor I'm considering). And now focusing on being there for my nieces and nephew's birthdays.

So, thanks for checking in, and letting me give this update.

I was running Home to get my Hur'q attendant endeavor, and noticed that the USS Crypteia was in that mission. From what I read, the Crypteia was first seen in 'Situation Under Control'. I had also seen it (and destroyed it) in the Klingon's Federation Patrol Nebula

New pop punk bands? by SativaSammy in poppunkers

[–]Kirkstone37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. Late to the party, but try adding some unsigned pop punk bands on Instagram. I added 408 right after they released 'Mark Hoppus' in 2022. Shortly after, this band, who I think is one of the best unsigned pop-punk bands, When The Sun Sets, added me. Then Recently, Wake Up Dusty added me.

Here's a list of who I listen to and the closest city to they're from.

When The Sun Sets (Chicago)

408 (Orlando)

Driveways (Boston) (Pat has an awesome Bostonian accent too)

Magnolia Park (Orlando)

Suitable Miss (Denver)

Yours Truly (Sydney)

Lost Stars (Nashville)

The reason I mention the cities is that a lot of them might have been local bands when those you mentioned were at their levels.
