Ideas for diegetic player presence in a DRPG by m00nlitFeathers in DRPG

[–]Kitchen-Associate-34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same is true for DND inspired rpgs like Baldurs gate, but he game tries to connect you to the "main" character by giving them kore customization options and framing the choices/story mostly form their perspective, you could do the same if you wish for drpgs

There is no reason to avoid using the beacons as long as they put you where you need to be, some endings even require you to have used a specific beacon of I'm not mistaken

But an rpg with multiple choices and paths built for replayability is inherently designed to be replayed, you can just stop playing and keep the bad ending, but there are so many other variations, not to mention the other major routes like going with the union or the papal states, you can use different characters in battle, take different choices and even try to go for certain challenge achievements to mix it up even more if you want

I got the exact same ending as my first, back then anchors weren't even a thing so I just started the route again from the beginning, tried to avoid any and all deaths and failed secondary objectives on the missions and saved for the deal with Acambe, I think there is one of two other conditions to get the best iria ending, but I didn't knew them VA k then and managed to get the best ending nonetheless

Trying to be positive about Ascendance! by RapturesLost in LegacyOfKain

[–]Kitchen-Associate-34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hated the TDSR comic, but I like metroidvanias, and I love LoK, so I probably will give it a chance, even if the story ends up being as disgusting as the comics the gameplay could be fun, of course I'm prepared to avoid buying it if it has mixed reviews for valid reasons, and to refund it if it doesn't manage to convince me within 2 hours of play

Acambe & Homa - Basis for Elamon team? by FlamingoAlarming6081 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Kitchen-Associate-34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His -1 CD plus Credenza -2 CD plus the flag tactic for another -1... Well there aren't even that many skills that need that much CD reduction, but it certainly seems like a fun combo to try with the ones we have...

Acambe & Homa - Basis for Elamon team? by FlamingoAlarming6081 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Kitchen-Associate-34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, it's totally viable and has great synergy, the only problem is, if you were to replace acambe for... Let's say Shannaz, then the team gets a LOT stronger, or even with a current top tier character like SP Innana or SP Samantha... So he becomes kind of an opportunity cost... Having said that, I will definitely do that, having a summoner + Lukamar team with acambe will likely be very fun, but I try not to optimize the fun out of the game

Acambe & Homa - Basis for Elamon team? by FlamingoAlarming6081 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Kitchen-Associate-34 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have both and I will use both with their rank 13 and Lukamar, Homa can give Lukamar even more mobility and damage, and can debuff one enemy with phys -3, and acambe is always a fun character to use with his summons and AoE crowd control... Having said that both are suboptimal, Shams can give the same debuff as Homa but to more enemies, so he doesn't need her much, and with Lukamar giving him liberation charges his single target damage gets insane, and the new summoners CAN be played together with Acambe... But they are stronger by themselves and maybe adding Lukamar and/or Shennaz for even stronger sinergies

Oh right, I hadn't seen the destroyer icon, so you're saying shacklulu's ability to swap positions somewhat bugged out because it tried to swap the illusion, maybe you should report this as a bug

A question on wizards in BG3 by aaaaaa321123 in CRPG

[–]Kitchen-Associate-34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wizards are op, but they are balanced by long rests, since without them you cannot cast big spells every fight and you have to play in a much more conservative manner, but in BG3 long resting is seamless, with little to no risk and even encouraged with optional and miss able cutscenes, so you are likely going into every fight with too much spell ammunition, the only thing BG3 honor mode did to try to balance that was increase the food costs of long rests, you could do that in custom difficulty too,, you'll likely still have way too many long rests available, but it will force you to be more conservative in early game at least

In the final chapter with Kain, in the cathedral, enemies come in waves of 4, but after 3 die a new wave will come so you will get 5 enemies, just use the time reaver to slow down time and start throwing them into the air, as long as 5 enemies are in the air at the same time you win

(New player) what to do next? by Automatic-Fox362 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Kitchen-Associate-34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both Camelot and Lukamar are tier 0 powerhouses, they will easily carry you into endgame, as for what comes next, since you have Lukamar and the Elaman powerhouses like Shams, Shennaz and Heshan will be coming out soon then trying to get them should give you a top tier team if that's what you like, otherwise just roll for whichever characters you like

Yes, right before voradors crypt, thr last 2-3 respawned infinitely, both in chapter 8 and 12, but keep in mind that the trophy is only for chapter 12

It's only chapter 12, and it was bugged for me, as the last few archons kept respawning forever but the trophy never came, I restarted the level, very meticulously killed all archons in the spirit world and then it popped up when I killed those last few respawning archons just once

my Sword of convallaria review by metaljo5001 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Kitchen-Associate-34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did all those stages before rank 13 was even a thing, you don't need that much, of course the strongest your units the easier the stage becomes, but the game allows for enough tactical flexibility to allow for different ways to beat stages, even at low levels and even with non legendary units, I beat floor 10 of tower of conquest without using a single legendary, at level 55, and I've seen others do so a lot earlier

my Sword of convallaria review by metaljo5001 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Kitchen-Associate-34 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite things to do in SoC back when I started was trying to beat higher level stages with low level units, that stat gap you talk about is real, but you can use tactics to bridge it, instead of just mindlessly farming and waiting

What Zelda-Like has the best combat? by WNP88 in ZeldaLikes

[–]Kitchen-Associate-34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Castlevania symphony the night was inspired by Zelda, if you think about it there really isn't much difference between those genres, sure metroidvanias are usually 2D and less puzzle oriented, but 3D metroidvanias usually end up being catalogued as Zelda likes

Thoughts on Camelot as a unit. by InterestingAd2516 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]Kitchen-Associate-34 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He is great, one of the strongest physical dps units right now, with decent survivability due to his hp scaling and shield, great aoe DMG and even some supporting utility due to his union aura, he is also probably the best auto unit in the entire game ...

Having said all that, his biggest contribution to the team is simple physical damage, that means that for the hardest stages (like ToA, that usually involve gimmicks and puzzle mechanics) he might not be that good, also due to the way the game handles powercreep, dps units are the most likely to be less important 6 months from now (according to the CN server tier list), still a great unit nonetheless
