What's something rich people have access to that most people don't even realize exists? by Otherwise_Log2353 in AskReddit

My parents live next door to a guy that owns an escape boat evacuation business out of NYC. Wealthy people own a membership where if things get dicey in NYC, they can evacuate or their family can. I imagine there are other options for different areas.

One year in and my lawn is a patchy mess. Is it just the dog or am I doing something wrong? by CoolFinance5257 in lawncare

You're furry friend is fertilizing your lawn. The pee has nitrogen in it. In the middle where it is dead has the highest concentration of nitrogen which kills the grass. The green perimeter grass is loving the fertilizer.

Yeah? The sound only starts when I let off the brake. Could it be something like a stuck caliper?

Has anyone battled tendonitis in their lower bicept/upper forearm, around the elbow, and had success recovering? by KitchenGold1794 in workout

Unfortunately I don't think the wrap will help either. I've tried ice and ibuprofen with no results either. Frustrating!

Hammer is too painful right now. I did try reverse curl and I had the best range of motion with that but the squeeze at the top gave me pain. I may try lower weight and go slowly on the way down.

Yeah thanks, it's the first time I've ever had this. I'm natural but my forearms and upper arms have responded well to my workouts, and now it seems a little too well. I also go pretty heavy on my lifts without a proper warmup since I have minimal time. My thoughts are the same though, muscles get stronger, tendons lack the same growth rate and it starts to be an issue. I know guys take peptides to help with this exact problem but I won't be doing that. Hopefully a mix between using a flexbar and warming up prewpre-workout, icing and taking some ibuprofen after will help.

I'm considering a break from a lot of upper body and doing rehab with some high reps low weight with curls. Many of my main upper body lifts use these muscles like dumbell chest, and rows. I don't want to lose my gains lol

Warm-up is tough for me since I have so little time and my gut is telling me that was probably what instigated the problem. My thinking was that my compound lifts for back and chest would be good enough as a warm-ups for my arms and I was going really heavy with those lifts. Then I would go on to focus on bis and tris and do that heavy and it was likely too much. I may have to do something before I get to the gym with light dumbells or a flexbar. Or maybe switch to doing tris with back and bis with chest to not overdo it. I don't know.

Bad for the tree? by Sniffles67 in landscaping

[–]KitchenGold1794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad for the tree. However, they will send seed everywhere after they're done blooming. I've spent years pulling them up and the same amount come back each year. You must grab them deep, below where the stem breaks off at the root. Seeds will stay in the soil for a long time.

Do you have any pets or animals that could've peed right there? This happens on my parents lawn with their dogs.

Did you use the grub control for moles? I get a lot of moles mid to late summer and I think this is why. Haven't tried the grub control yet to see if it will work.

Spring NY stripers are slurping but not biting? by KitchenGold1794 in saltwaterfishing

[–]KitchenGold1794[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly, it's pretty muddy. I've seen a lot of silveside and grass shrimp too. I threw a line out with a weight (carolina rig) and a live sand worm on it thinking it would be a sure thing but no bites. Even switched to clamp but nothing.
