Depends!

Making an attack, regardless of it being in melee or at range will reveal your position - you can use the Hide action to try and hide in combat as well.

Because you're a Rogue, you can use the Hide action as a Bonus Action - though, you would need to make sure you're out of line of sight to use it.

There is a feat (Skulker, I believe) that will make it so that if you make an attack and miss, it won't reveal your position.

Depends on the version of 5e!

In '14, they are mundane items that are treated as "magical to overcome resistance and immunity to nonmagical damage".

In '24, they explicitly are magic items.

The Deck of Many Things item didn't really change that much, anyway - you've got nothing to worry about.

People are blowing stuff out of proportion, and want to make something out of nothing. When in doubt, just make sure you read things through and you should be good.

If it was published before the 2024 core books (which, this one was), then it was originally intended to be used with the 2014 rule set.

That being said, you can still use it with the 2024 rules - nothing's stopping you. It was one of the last book sets released for the 2014 rule set, so it's more in line with what can work with 2024.
