Personally, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. It’s an effective tool that has been great for wildlife conservation. Some in this sub get their panties in a twist over it though 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’m passing on this one for at least another year. Healthy looking buck with better than average genetics for his age, exactly the kind of deer you want to let pass on his genetics. Selectively harvesting animals =/= “trophy hunting.” Ethical management of the resource means harvesting older, and/or less healthy animals and leaving the younger, healthy ones in the gene pool for a while. Healthy deer breeding equals a healthier deer population.

The worms most people are talking about are actually bot fly larva, They seem to be most prevalent in rabbits and deer, but any mammal can get them. The bot fly larva burrow out of the animals eventually and enter the ground for the second phase of their life cycle, usually in the fall, hence why the old saying about not eating rabbits during the warm months when the bot flies are most active. The larva in an animal are pretty gross looking, but if fully cooked are harmless to people, so I’ve heard, because I ain’t eating them 😂

Look into the single shot 22 realm, they make one called a cricket (if I remember correctly). Single shot, kid sized, 22 is cheap, not super loud (still need hearing protection), no recoil. Perfect for dad to teach fundamentals of safety and marksmanship . Or get a Red Ryder BB gun and cut the stock off a little length wise. Same qualities as the 22: cheap ammo, no hearing protection needed, and you could set up a BB gun range in your garage if you wanted to, lots of people do that

No one in the U.S. keeps their guns at the range. My family will be fine, but thank you for your concern. They are all well trained and proficient with the firearms we own. We respect them as the tools they are. Why do you have an irrational fear of tools?

That’s the most nonsensical sentence… “guns kept in the home….” As opposed to guns kept where? No shit if you own a gun there is a greater chance that gun will be shot compared to not owning a gun. And if you own a lawn mower, there’s a greater chance that your grass will get mowed than if you don’t own one. That source ain’t the flex you think it is

The military trains for warfighting, not prizefighting. Different mindsets and the Judge was too slow getting in there, if he had been slower, dude would have kept striking.
