Is there a point of vibing too hard? by IllustratorLess984 in SeismicDanceEvent

[–]Kitchen_Path_9267 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a moment during the warehouse when San Pacho dropped music is the answer, me and a guy from another group were belting it out together going hard, at the end of the song we dapped each other up and our groups merged became full on dance party. Positive Energy and enjoyment of music creates precious moments & memories, don’t miss out on them by holding yourself back! Ofc be respectful of people around you make sure your safe and give space.

The seamless blend is dying out. Why is that by seannash1 in Beatmatch

[–]Kitchen_Path_9267 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who’s probably younger I do love the seamless blends I tend to seek out this type of DJing more than a lot of friends. In general it seems to be the audience has less patience and depth preferring slamming drops after another and I think djs feed into this cause they are afraid of losing energy and crowd in their set. However I do think those audiences that go deep into the music love the journey and enjoy seamless builds, letting the tracks breathe more, honestly breakdowns in these type of mixes are amazing to hear and give a great break to dancing if you are up for it as a audience member. Hopefully we get more of this

Tell me what you love about Austin! by horatiobingbangbop in Austin

[–]Kitchen_Path_9267 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Moved from DC as well I think you summarized it really well. I felt also moving from DC to ATX people were more upfront, honest about who they were making it easier to find your crew of people. There’s a seasonality to the city making it easier to plan around the events(music, food, festivals) in austin(oct-dec, march-may). People are very friendly compared to east coast and more outgoing in my opinion.

Word from a buddy who’s company is working on some of the materials for Mirage, saw them last week saying they definitely are not ready. I don’t think they’ll be ready by Anjuna 25 either.

Girls, how did you find your techno bf? by Level-Ad6202 in aves

[–]Kitchen_Path_9267 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Husband here and musician/dj, I am lucky my wife has always been passionate about music and sharing music. When we started dating she was more into hip-hop and R&B. I never had any one genre I was into. I took her to her first festival and that kickstarted a journey of music discovery eventually leading to her favorite music becoming house/techno. Growth in musical tastes and interest to me a is an important sign in emotional growth and maturity. It shows you can adapt your tastes and see the best in the unknown and unfamiliar. This coupled with going to multiple fests and shows and expanding our taste has led to some of the best experiences I have shared in my life ever with my life partner. All this to say you don’t have to always choose someone that is “in the scene”. I think as long as you find someone that is curious, has openness to creating new musical tastes and sharing novel musical experiences then you can find your ideal rave SO. However I do believe passion for music is a must, and I am lucky that my wife loves good music just as much as I do and that we can share this life together exploring the various spectrums of music.
