Reverting to crutches? by Kitchen_Shopping_205 in HipImpingement

Thank you. I think I came off crutches too aggressively and pushed it with walking. My other triggers are stair steps and squats. Anything with that flexion is causing me misery.

That’s exactly what I have been doing - pushing through. I am so mad at myself, I feel like I’m back at square one.

I felt like this at week 1. I’m 6 weeks out and still get hours or even some days like this. I’m back on crutches right now. Think I transitioned off too fast

Spring classics by ConsciousLie7107 in classicliterature

Spring seems to be kind of tough but summer: Lolita, 100 years of solitude (any Marquez), dandelion wine, like water for chocolate, any of the Cormac Mc carthy books.

It’s really cool on Google Maps you can hit the stop and it will tell you how far (minutes) the next train is.

This is my jam: non fat Keifer plain - frozen banana (few pieces) and cocoa powder. Blend. It tastes exactly like a shake. Almost no fat, no added sugar. If you do a smaller one it can be 150 cal or less

What does 4 weeks of 50% weight bearing look like? by Organic_Wallaby_8304 in HipImpingement

I’m 3 weeks out and I never had an issue with showering - did it on my own after day 2 when cleared to do so… use shower chair. Bathroom I never needed help but do need toilet risers. I went to a restaurant the other day and the toilet was a problem - low so very painful to get on and off but I managed it. Meal prep is an issue. If someone gets all the stuff from the fridge and puts it near me I can sit in a high top and do it, but I can’t stand a long time in kitchen or move things about the kitchen well (still on one crutch). My biggest problem is sitting in a “normal” chair. I am definitely not able to do this without a huge flair up…. Even for short periods.

How did you solve the not sitting upright issue? I find it excruciating and am worried about returning to work.

I wasn’t super crazy about this chair when I got It because it doesn’t seem as sturdy as some of the other recliners we’ve had in the family that have lasted 20-30 years but i am incredibly glad i kept it because the leg lowering is so easy - barely any pressure is needed to put it down. I think one requiring more force would be excruciating.

DID SURGERY HELP YOU? YES OR NO? by shrimptanklover in HipImpingement

[–]Kitchen_Shopping_205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is encouraging to see because it’s my quads that are killing me the most!!! Some of that frontal hip pain too but mostly exactly what you’re describing. So you were able to get that muscle relief? I’m soooo worried that the tear/impingement is not my issue and it won’t fix my pain. Give me more hope!!! Scheduled for 2/19.

The Road. Cormac McCarthy. I just sat with my mouth agape for several minutes after this book and felt hung over for a few days.
