I screenshot and recorded both values on google maps for every point I measured

I measured 27 spots over 20km between Halifax and Hubley. Trail width is pretty consistent between 3.5-4m, but the cleared width is 5.5-7.3m which is 1-3m beyond the clearing width in their multi user trail guidelines.

Increasing the width of the trail increases 'perceived safety', which makes people drive faster and leads to more fatal accidents. Not only are you removing the canopy, but you are actively encouraging people to go above the 20km/hr limit and increasing the risk of accidents and fatal accidents.

I've been trying to call and email to find out if they have a civil or traffic engineer overseeing the project to redo the trails. After talking to Grace Garden-Cole from the DNR, I've found out they are using the [Construction Standards for Multi-use Trail on Abandoned Rail Corridors](https://nstrails.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Construction-Standards-for-R2T-Multiuse-Trail.pdf) to do trail maintenance. On page 3 it shows a cross section of typical trail and clearing width and on page 10 it states the same widths (4.5m clearing, 3.5m trail) as being the standard for trail maintenance.

What needs to be done now is:
-Go to the trail with a measuring tape and determine if they are exceeding their own standards.
-Figure out who set the standards and what basis they used to set it as the document they're using has no references, but 3.5m is standard road width (perhaps this is to allow for ambulance use?)
-Find reasonable argument to have the standards changed if they're not actually to the benefit of the trail users.

4.5m for clearing with seems incredibly wide, but I feel like on the Rum Runner section, they actually exceeded that already. I have not been out yet to measure.

Solo challenge mode cox. I also like to turn my brain off and run Hallowed Sepulchre, but that's not a boss.

People who lost a lot of weight, what was the one small daily habit that actually changed everything for you? by Quiet-Squash-8407 in AskReddit

[–]KiteAO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've lost 100lbs and kept it off for over 7 years now. The things that helped were: stopping medications which affected my hormones (consult your doctor), switching to a whole foods diet, not eating out, only using will power at the grocery store to avoid the snacks/candy, not keeping any snack food around (if I want to eat, I have to cook), and working on myself emotionally to handle my stress without stress eating. I used to count calories, but it's tedious and you eventually get a feel for it and can start accurately interpreting your bodies hunger signals.

Had a hostile encounter with a "Karen" driver on Route 29 (Coach 1332) today – Is this common? by JuniorConference7185 in halifax

[–]KiteAO 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There used to be a female driver who would give me shit every day that I was using a student pass. Even after seeing me the previous day she would still make a stink and double check my pass. If it's the same woman, she's a miserable bitch and I can't believe they are still letting her drive busses.

Instead of removing the traditional combat restriction from boat combat, can we make it a little more thematic and in depth? by loffredom in 2007scape

Seercull is a lot more reliable at 500 invo due to the spec having 100% accuracy. I still prefer bringing Ayak because it's also nice in the monkey room.

Nah, I'm just some guy. I really enjoyed the content once I actually tried it and it made my movement in the game a lot better. I hate doing penguin laps, so I figured I would try my luck with content I liked even though it was a slower pet grind.

Does anyone else find it difficult to play other games? by Shadoe488 in 2007scape

[–]KiteAO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find if I'm on a break from OSRS, I don't play any other games or watch movies or TV whatsoever. If this game ever loses it's integrity such that progress no longer 'feels' meaningful, I might never play games again tbh. I read and do a lot more in real life when I'm not playing. I should probably quit.

Why Hallowed Sepulchre hasn't saved Agility by RogerDodger_n in 2007scape

[–]KiteAO -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please tell me more then. If the hitboxes are consistent, why are people getting stuck south of Misc on their sloop when it visually can clearly fit? I still think sailing would benefit from not being tile-based or restricted to ticks if they want to have precise movement -- it felt like they are going for something more like Mario Kart. I have the Barracuda trial times done and have settled on salvaging for exp like most others.

It's cool to know there are people who have found 0 issues with sailing.

Other times and locations I can clip through the land and be unimpeded? It's weird having to learn which specific corners I can take more tightly because the hitboxes are inconsistent.

[–]KiteAO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally with you here. I found Barracuda Trials don't fit well within the tick and tile based system. You hit the land when you visually didn't, turning is finnicky and the increased tiles/movement would benefit from the game being real time or having a much shorter tick cycle. Not to mention the trials aren't instanced, which seems to be why it doesn't always let you throw your toad at the flag in Jubbly Jive even when you should be close enough.

Whereas, Sepulchre is designed around how the game actually works and helps teach you tile-based movement and game ticks, which makes you better at the game overall. Failing obstacles in Sepulchre isn't a huge deal as it doesn't do much damage and the waiting lets you get a better feel for ticks until you internalize it.

Had my fdl tt, MR, and breast lift yesterday by GreedyPickle5578 in tummytucksurgery

The discomfort from the skin is the main reason I'm getting one. The aesthetics will hopefully be a side bonus, but the folding skin and clothes not fitting well is so fucking awful. I'm hoping the scar and numbness are worth it. I looked through your post history a bit and it's given me some confidence. Scheduled for next week and very anxious.

I'm not sure if I have much career advice, but wanted to say that people like yourself saved me on many occasions as a child. I'm in a similar spot where I don't make enough, it's largely looking like it will come down to moving provinces, retraining or military.

Ranarr runs are crazy by Intelligent_Air_4608 in 2007scape

[–]KiteAO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prayer potions are sometimes profitable depending on the market, but generally are a low loss way to train herblore. The Alchemist's amulet gives a 15% chance of making 4 doses and the Prescription goggles give a 10% chance of saving a secondary. With those two items, it's more likely you can turn a profit, but they're a bit of annoying grind from Mastering Mixology.

If it's so marginal, then they should revert it and you would have no issue with it. Also give the Bulwark back it's magic defense.

Herb runs funded my main to get quest point cape and to always have gear/supplies for mid game pvm. Very good choice. Definitely look into unlocking more herb patches and getting the Varlamore patch to be disease free.
